JJ & Cotton were awesome on the TAR commentary.

These 2 make a real nice team and add sooo much to a match. When talking about the match they touch on many, many details, details that actually helped me learn the game in the first place while I was listening to the great commentary of guys like Billy, Grady, Buddy & Nick. When I started playing pool around 88 I went everywhere in the NE for lessons and nothing came close to what I learned from the Accu Stat matches, this weekend’s match was a lil flashback to that, great stories at the right time and great instruction all the way through.

They don’t just tell ya ok 2 rails here, 1 rail there, they talk about the type of stroke, how the balls react to that type of stroke, the mindset or feeling behind the choice. They both have tons of true experience and share it freely, even the valuable stuff. Shane and Daz both struggled for 2 days but these commentators understood every bit of it and totally made the best of it in a good light.

Great move getting these 2 in the booth and I know it’ll be tough to make it a regular thing but whenever possible puleeeze draggem back in there! Thanks for another gr8 match to everyone that was involved.

Sorry I missed the audio. The pool room had the full screen of the match and the audio off.

You nailed it Joe T!! Now I know why Jeremy Jones is such a great player after hearing his commentary. He knows the right shot every shot and the correct way to execute it:-). That was one of the most informative commentary jobs I have ever heard as far as details on every shot. That was worth it's weight in gold if you want to improve as a player!!! Best TAR commentary ever!!!

I also agree completely, for a couple guys who has just met they worked very well together and their friendly banter with counting points for being correct was amusing. I've been critical in the past regarding commentators and I have nothing to complain about this time around  Thanks again TAR.

IMO, Double J has provides the best commentary ever. As much as I like others (e.g., Cardone), I think JJ is the one I like listening to the most. By far. I like the thought process, what a professional vs an amateur vs a world beater would do, his soothing voice that doesn't put people to sleep, his humility, etc.

God bless Danny D., but this was a major breath of fresh air as far as pool comment. is concerned. Very insightful without all the second-guessing and "i would have done this" that some other color comment. bring to a match.

Yes sir.

JJ has as much pool knowledge as anyone. And it's good to have commentators that actually understand the game and don't get off topic to much. And when they did get off topic, involving something about pool only, and something crucial in the TAR match came up, they cut right back to the shot at hand, very important. They are both very good commentators. Jay and Billy I are also a great commentators. Other then those 4, I would be hard pressed to put anyone else in that booth in the future, if they are availiable.

I really enjoyed JJ's knowledge of pool that he brought. Dare I say this, but I haven't listened to a commentator with his amount of knowledge explain things in a fashion and a way that everyone can understand in a while. On level with WinCardona I would say...would love to hear him commentate again Justin.

I think we can thank Joey A. for letting the players know to give some pro info while doing broadcasting. It seems like every pro that is any good in the booth gives up some to a lot of info to the fans now. Johnnyt

Man, you guys are right on the money about this. Billy I has always been my favorite mainly because he is always paying attention to the game and explains what's happening at the table so well. JJ's description was in so much detail I was super impressed. He would explain 2 or 3 different options in different situations and he makes everything very easy to understand. He must be an excellent instructor. I know he has learned from some of the all time greats because I have heard him say so. I had the pleasure of watching him match up recently at Hardtimes in CA and the one pocket he laid down on Santos was a total clinic, very impressive!!This was the best commentary in TARs history....

JJ is the total package. Great voice, cadence and content. He sounds like a professional commentator (not sure he even got paid for the gig). His insight alone were worth the price of admission.

Other commentators (no offense, Fred) that I enjoy (mostly for 1 pocket) are Bily Incardona and Grady Matthews (RIP).

I agree with everyone, it was the best TAR commentary I have heard. Cotton does great color with some stories and humor, JJ has a good voice which is easy to listen to and tremendous knowledge, good timing too on the commentary without either of the guys being overbearing. If you are going to pay for commentary then these guys are it, they work well together too with enough in common as both have been in Texas so they know some of the same places and people.
