What is the general consence on these ferrules??? Are they any good or crap??? What are they made of???
thanks in advance

I use them on my cues. They are an injection molded polymer blend reinforced with fibreglass. They are virtually indestructible. They machine well and are very light.

If these are the same ones they sold 3-4 years ago, they remind me of LePro tips. Be prepared to remove a freshly installed one and try again. They either had mystery marks and/or crap inside of them. Very much like a crackerjack box. A surprise in every one.

In all fairness, if they have improved over the past few years, I don't know about it.

I have installed hundreds of them and never seen anything like that.

Good. You can have the rest of mine. Send them to you personally or to your work place? You'll see it with these!

Just an FYI about these ferrules, there was a problem in the past and I'm told it has been rectified and a new supplier is doing them for Joe, I haven't tried them personally, the above was based on a phone conversation with Don at Porpers place.

i have a few from a couple years ago
have those streaks and /or dirt in them
hope they solved that problem as mr webb says

We are actually molding them for Joe now. I haven't heard or seen any problems since we took over.

Not too sure why you wouldn't have posted the above quote before you posted the one below discrediting my comment. It would have explained why I'm seeing crap in the Porper ferrules and you aren't.

Thanks for the insight Mr. Webb.

Ryan; can I get some of these that are NOT threaded or do NOT have a hole in them?...JER

Gene, I didn't mean to upset you or discredit your post. I tell you what, send me all the old stock of ferrules you have and I will replace them, no charge. I'll even add 10% extra. All you have to do is ship them to the address in my sign.

I've actually been working on that the past few days. I want them molded as a blank as opposed to capped.

Hi Gene
It was purely timing, I talk to Joe and Don about certain things, so when they asked if I had tried there new ferrules, I pointed out this thread. I never asked where or who was making them before or now, That's proprietary info. They are sending me some to try and I will help follow up on this thread when I play with one.

Not upset at all Ryan, was just a bit confused. Your offer is a kind and generous one. Thank you.

Gene

Edited to add this photo of a sample of the Porper ferrules I have.
