I know Joe already answered my question, but I wanted to get some other user's opinions on the subject, because obviously he's slightly biased.. hehe, so no offense Joe...

I'm considering getting his "package" deal but had a question about the Aiming System Workout part. Is it worth it if I don't want to learn his aiming system? In other words, for the better player, would just the "Workout" portion of that part be worth it enough to justify getting it, or is it mainly for those interested in using his Aiming system?

I do want the 3rd eye trainer & the Guaranteed Improvement Part. I'm pretty sure I want the Racking Secrets, but I could save like $15-$20 if I skipped the Aiming System Workout portion.

I hope this question makes sense.

Absolutely it is worth it. I consider myself a pretty good player and I use his workouts all the time. I don't really follow his aiming system because I don't really aim anymore...but some of his tips actually helps me when I'm missing.

3rd eye trainer has really helped me straighten my stroke out - the question you need to ask yourself is it worth a few bucks in your pocket not to get it.

Thanks Pip9ball... rep to you.

Razorback... I definately want the 3rd eye trainer for sure... the question was about the "Aiming Workout"

I think you would be limiting yourself if you didn't give his aiming system a try. Being able to accurately perceive the contact points on both the CB/OB will greatly improve your chances of making the shot. His workout is the best out there IMO. The aiming balls are good to use while training with the workout. They really help you see the CP's. The third eye is a very effective tool to help get your stroke straight. He has a little extra attachment coming soon that will help your aiming perception.

i really dont know if this info will help y9ou, but it may....

if you shoot a slight cut on a 9ball in from the rail with a tip of outside english and hit center pocket, well you aimed it great, right?

ok, lets say you were a robot, and you could go to another table with new cloth, EXACT same shot, same english, same aiming and everything..... well, there would be more outside on the cb at contact and the 9 would either go into the extreme overcut side of the pocket, or miss by overcut entirely...... what does all that mean?? thast aiming systems simply can't work..... you have to aim different on differnt cloths??? who has a system for that????

so, save the 20 bucks...... position is the entire key :) hope i helped.

For $20 I'd get it in a heartbeat. How many have lost $20 in a game or set? Put is in perspective, spend the $20 and have it for a lifetime. It is a good investment.

Please tell us how you would aim that shot or any other. Also explain how the contact points change with different tables.

Hello,

I think it's worth it! I have The Aiming Workout and the Aiming Balls. I now aim CTE every shot and love it, but for me Joe's Aiming System is the next best thing. Even if you don't use Joe's system the shots in the workbook are great to practice. However I would actually try using his system first, it really hones your shot perception. The 3rd Eye is awsome, best 12$ ever spent :)

why in the world would you NOT want to learn something new?

everyone has some secret some special trick usually for sale.. but... not all of them are garbage...

there are lots of ways to approach this game... but "I don't want to learn that" has to be the dumbest thing I have ever heard..

I have tried and trashed tons of different tricks... but I always try them before I trash them...

you are buying a package that has elements you know you already want...

but you don't want to buy it because you might learn something new????

you might get more than you expected???

I would never pay for anything with the potential to deliver more than I expect.... that might help my game and we can't have that.....

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whether you use a "system" with a name that was invented by somebody else, or just use your own "way of aiming" with no name and no conscious steps, either way you follow a process (consciously or unconsciously) that you repeat for every shot, and you have to adjust that process (adjust your aim) for current conditions in pretty much the same way.

In other words, there's no real difference in the amount or kind of aiming adjustments needed whether you use a "system" or not (in fact, I don't think there's much real difference of any kind between "using a system" or not), so this isn't really an argument against using systems.

Thanks, I wasn't going to dignify his post with a response, but you're right. I guess to sum it up, there's something called a point of diminishing returns. Whereas, I could spend tons and tons of money on all the latest "aiming systems" and tools, etc, etc, and only be marginally better, and broke. So I was simply looking for an answer to whether his workout was worth the price IF someone chose not to follow his aiming strategy.
