John Davis Blanks (Burton Spain)

The prices may be going up but my blank was delivered before the New Year and was still priced at $350 directly from John Davis. Great work and will be shopping around for a cuemaster to finish it off for me while at VF.

You all say that Mssr. Davis does wonderful blanks, but the few that I've seen in pics here have some beginner errors to them like shorting a prong, etc. Of course, that could be due to the cuemaker doing the conversions.
What is the quality of the blank that you received ?

The points won't necessarily be perfectly even in the blank stage. The cue maker will "tweak" them in final assembly. Below are several examples of finished Davis blank cues currently for sale here for your review.

I have to agree with the above statement where the final assembly will adjust everything correctly. Points on mine are a bit off (0.050") but within acceptable tolerances for a rough blank. But the blank is solid, pretty and ready to go to a cue maker to finish for me. I will be talking to a few cuemakers at VF to hopefully finish this one for me.
