Az has there very own horse in this race. I just wish everybody would understand that and get behind him. He is a first class player and human being, so lets all hope he pulls this off. How many Az members do we have that have 400 ball runs in tournaments? How many do we have that have made it this far? I know we have Gabes mom, but she don't play.:D We are gonna go for it!!!! Whatever happens will happen. A lot of you guys wanted to put it together to put an Az member in the open. You think that plan didn't materalize! I can tell ya, it sure as hell has. I had no motivation in doing this. If it hadn't been for this forum and the people I have met, it wouldn't have happened. Thanks to all of you.

Wishing John the best

I exchanged a few PM's with John when he offered direct sales of his DVD. He seems like a very nice guy and I'm glad to see him doing so well. Timing was bad or I would have backed him myself.

I'm glad to see him going so far and nice that it seems your gamble backing him will work out great for you too.

Congrats to John. Good Luck! !

Someone post a bio and details on the 400 ball run.
I recently ordered his DVD and can not wait for it to arrive.

I was asked by a dozen Planet 9-Ball players to post our best wishes and good luck for John Schmidt. He is thought of highly at P-9-Ball and everyone hopes that he is in the finals and does very well.
Good luck John.

You're traveling through another dimension -- a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. That's a signpost up ahead: your next stop: the John Schmidt Zone!

You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension: a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. You're moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You've just crossed over into... the John Schmidt Zone.

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call "The John Schmidt Zone".

Okay, Purdman...I had to wait for the obvious reason. But with his & Gabe's match over, I can now root for Schmidt. Go John!

Thanks, but I don't know about that.
But lots of reasons to (now) root for John......hearing about Purdman and John, plus I'm sure John is hungry for this kind of tournament, Gabe & John are also golfing buddies, and would also just like to see USA win the Open!
Thanks again Ironman!

schmidt in the finals. i have neverf seen anyone in such dead stroke. gotta go watch him torture luat....... i hope.

Go John

I talked with John yesterday about selling his DVD's / tapes and he said he wasn't dressed very nice in them but he is thinking about it. I met John about 3 years ago and consider him a good friend of mine and I think he is one of the best shot maker out there today. He is also one of the players that will show everyone respect and speak to people. I Am happy he has done so well and wish him the best. Go John!!!

This is a great story in the making. And John's easily the most entertaining pro poster around here. Take it down, John!

John and David both live here!

Along with Rick Howard. I really would like to see David bust out. He just keeps getting better!
Good luck all either way!

Luat just didn't have a prayer. Schmidt had already steamrolled past Alcano, Gabica, Strickland, Owen, Appleton...etc. John was just destined to win it this year.

Congratulations to you John!

And of course, congratulations to Purdman! Hopefully you backed him the $1700 option, such that you get 60%. That's a decent reward for your generosity and charity. :)

John just won.

Way to go, John!
Congratulations on your US Open Championship!
If you happen to be available in November it would be great to see you play in the Jack Colavita (aka. New Jersey 14.1 Championship) Memorial 14.1 Straight Pool Tournament.
PM me with your thoughts.
