I know about John Schmidt's 2 400 ball runs. I was wondering if anyone in history has had a higher run than his 366 on video?? This is the highest run that I have ever heard of on tape. Just curious if anyone knows of a higher filmed run? Thanks...

Hey, Mark. How you doing?

Yeah, the 366 is the highest I have ever heard of on film.

And his 294 on a Diamond is the highest on a Diamond on film.

Thanks Dennis, I didn't think there was a higher run on tape than 366, but if someone knew about one, I wanted to see and own it:grin:. Even when there are a zillion witnesses, I like it better when it's recorded. It blows my mind to see runs like this when I struggle so hard just to get 50. This kind of skill level is mind boggling?? To have a run that long without something going wrong blows my mind. I guess it has to do with all the attempts I've made and realizing how impossible it seems that impresses me so much...If I could get a 100 before croaking I would be so happy:smile:....

How many 200+ ball runs have been captured on film?........any table, ever?

I think this is a question for Marop. He probably has most of them on his computer. I'll see if I can wake him.

Agree

I totally agree with you. I have often thought about those amazing high runs. I have come to the conclusion that these few players that hit those unbelievable numbers are gifted with above average Eye-Hand coordination. There are players like these in every sport that stand above the rest. These players in our sport are equal to the others who are great in their sports. Also, another factor which always aids in any good run is the playing equipment. The table must be playing absolutely perfect with racks & clusters breaking apart properly.

John has 11 runs over 200 on video at my house with one being 366. Corey has 1 over 200 here. I know of 2 others John has over 200 on video. Harriman has at least one over 200 that was filmed. Not sure about the Euro's.

That's 14 over 200 that I know of.

Marop is the guy with the most runs over 200 on his computer. That's also quite an accomplishment itself :)

I just found a link to a 199 run by Danny Harriman.

It is amazing how great their cue ball control is, and how they are able to play so perfect (being on their feet for hours at a time). It is just amazing to me how they are able to be so patient, and keep their cool through their very long high runs.

Well put 14.1 Straightman, I always love your posts and insight when it comes to this game. I am in full agreement that some are born with something a little extra. I've ran into it in pool, bowling and baseball personally, so I know what you're saying. I have done practice runs on bad equipment also, so I get that. When the balls don't open like they're suppose to due to the conditions, it really hinders my chances of anything good happening:smile:. I'm still having fun trying though and now with my high run of 62, I don't get as nervous as before, when I get in the 40's. One day the stars will line up hopefully.....

There is a filmed 259 of Niels Feijen which is also on youtube...so make it at least one more

One of the keys to playing John is to make sure you have a very comfortable player's chair.

New high run in town

Just completed 27 racks plus one ball, that equals 379 and yes the camera was on. It was the unlucky number 13 ball that ended on a brutal skid, this is a personal best for me and a very clean run that will eventually be available for view to the public if the Good Lord is willing.

Simply AWESOME Danny. As I have told you I know your ability is there and a camera to boot WOW.The few things im sure of is that you didn't use any type of silicone or a waxed towel to polish the balls to make your run easier.
I honestly don't know but about 5 people in the whole world that can run over 150 balls that video their practice ever so as for the highest runs on this table and that table being the highest runs on video on whatever equipment doesn't hold a lot of ground with me.
As the majority of players that play 14.1 seem to be honest people so the use of video seems to be limited and not worth the time and effort for most players.I hope you make some dvds of this run and put me down for one.
Now this should get you a lot of respect in the pool world and a few bucks for sure also.My personal advise to you now is let all your comments about your feelings toward Schmidt go as its useless.I think everybody knows exactly all the details of his actions and the true person he really is but really let it go and when the time and place comes around just confront him about your problems and differences like I will do also.
Now since you are back to playing at a high level again if you let all the negative go you be a happier person and focus more on pool instead of the drama.
Danny pm me the details or just call me and tell me about it.

Congrats again,

Bobby

How much more difficult to break Mosconi's record?

That's awesome, Danny! How much more difficult, in your opinion, would it be to break Mosconi's record?
