Who on this board was there when the Treasury Dept. pulled out the large manila envelopes and had some of the players empty their pockets into em which ended JC forever?

Hippie Jimmy Reid

The best story of that incident can be found on Jimmy Reid's website in the "Stories" department under Minnesota Fats. Jimmy is seriously ill at the moment and he could probably use some business from everybody with his CD's and learning tapes. He would never ask for help himself.
I had just went back to Chicago for a few days rest when the raid occurred (the tourney used to last 3 weeks), so I missed the bust.

Thanks, Freddy. Good story. Just wish I would've been there to listen to the Fats' speech to grand jury....

Obviously it caught us by surprise and I remember when they were filing us out the door I was asked something about gambling. The agents were with their supposid wives & I heard there were 20+ in the room. Rempe had all his money accounted for and Ronnie Allen was not in the room during the bust, I know RA also spent allot of time on the golf course in action. I'm trying to remember who's money went into the envelope that was plopped on the table, I want to say Incardona but can't be sure. There was allot of gin rummy action along with the Jansco/pool action. Rempe I'm sure could fill us in on that moment better than I.
