I'm pretty sure this is Jon Kucharo the pool player that used to have a monster break and played at the highest level with the best players in the world.

I met him a few times and he seemed like a nice enough guy so seeing this is a bit troubling. Unfortunately I've seen this type of stuff happen with a handful of players that had tremendous talent.(See link below)

Sounds like he's John Kucharo, future felon.

How well he played or how nice he seemed is irrelevant.

He may have because this is from last year. I never seen anybody post about it though.
Gotcha. I read about it on here, but you're right that there wasn't much info about it. Lots of great players have run into problems with the law. Here is the list to my knowledge:
Jon Kucharo
Danny Harriman
Bobby Pickle
Rodney Morris
Howard Vickery

Anyone else worth mentioning? Sorry if anyone thinks this is insensitive, I really don't.

Doesn't sound like he was a particularly good counterfeiter.

You might have missed Tony Chohan.

I assume Harriman's crime was some of his posts here?

Short stop player Richie Idrovo out of Chicago. Shot and murdered his girlfriend and then turned the gun on himself and took his own life in the same breath.

Thing that creeps me out about that one is that I used to kind of know him and actually rode around in the car with him for a while one night. He took me to this killer Mexican place to eat and then after that we went to the tavern that he owned. What a tragedy!

Different than insensitive -- it is pointless in my opinion.

Any cohort of athletes in any positive, popular, and widely-recognized sport will contain a similar miniscule percentage of individuals who've gone astray with moderate to severe sociopathic behavior that is debatably worth publicizing after their proper, lawful punishment.

Other than the Vickery case -- which totally and forever deserves its community-advisory publicizing -- who among us is so without flaws that we can forget the sage wisdom of: "No man is as good as the best thing he's ever done . . . but neither is he as bad as the worst thing he's ever done."

I agree. I think most threads on here are pretty pointless. I was just adding to the discussion.
