During an interview I heard Johnny say something about the crowd being offensive to his wife. He handled it well by saying he did not think they really meant by it and just made him play harder. Did anyone else see the interview, I got in just as he made the respond.

yeah a few people have mentioned it, seems like johnny is getting a lot of respect lately both for his shooting at the cup, and his classy behavior away from the table. Still no MVP though :(

they were probably just jealous of her AMERICAN teeth

pearly whites are rare over there

Whatever was said doesn't need repeating on here. Players wives and kids should be off limits. What i'd love to see is for the one that said it come to the MC in Vegas next year and someone spots him. And then....... Johnnyt

I have always enjoyed watching Johnny play, and I think he is a classy guy. I was impressed with how much he helped the other players at the cup. He was offering a lot of advice, but he also told the guys to do what they thought was best for them.
Good team leader. Great representative for the game.

Melanie, is a good gal. She can do her fair share of talking when you get her going. She is part of their church and youth soccer and in choir at the church. She helps with the running of Johnny's poolroom. A great Mom and wife. At the Mosconi Cup she is always right there cheering on team USA and alot of the time leading the cheers. She makes a great Chicken pot pie. All Melanie did at this years MC was the same as any other year and thats support her country and the team. Obviously someone had to take it a step over the line and Melanie didn't deserve that. got something to say? say it to Johnny, he don;t care and knows it comes with the job at york Hall.
I still have no idea what was said but I am sure JA will let me in on it when he gets back. Well thats my little testamonial for Melanie Archer, I just thought that you may want a little more info on the Lady we are talking about. Oh, She is smoking hot too :)

Johnny, do you always resort to violence out of the gate?

:grin-square:

hungarian, without directing it at you sometimes people need a smack...or good beatin to remind them that respect should always come first.society wasnt so quick with their mouths back in the day

There has been some pretty distasteful things written on this forum of late regarding a certain lady ref, one that happens to be a wife and mother.
Written or spoken they seem to be a product of the same mentality, void of any respect.

I didn't catch what was said but it doesn't really matter. The person should never have disrespected Melanie! Johnny handled it with class because that's how he is. I can never say enough nice things about either one of them! I remember meeting Melanie for the first time when they were seriously dating & he brought her to the US Open 9 Ball. She always supports Johnny in whatever he does.

I was there on the night and didn't hear what was said either and didn't even know anything had happened until afterwards. I assume something was shouted (possibly in jest or not intentionally offensive) in response to Melanie standing up and cheering USA, USA.

Johnny Archer dealt with it in the perfect way in my opinion. Didn't let it affect him won the match and then didn't get angry about it or slag off the crowd but made mention of it to stop it happening again. I spoke to him on way back to team room directing after the game and he was very calm about it and a proper class act

I do not personally know Melanie but I listened to her commentate on a match on the Youtube and she seems very sweet. Everyone I have spoken with that has met her thinks highly of her. Johnny was a real man in this situation, firm but not overboard in his response.

Where was anyone saying anything about the Lady Ref? I always thought she was treated well and respected. Is it in a thread?
