Joss $25,000-added Turning Stone w/Full Cast of World Beaters, 1/5-1/8/2017

that and having a limited field while not knowing the schedule til a very late date. like I said, only ONE of this year's US MC team members is playing.

It's in the middle of nowhere in one of the snowiest coldest places in the USA during the coldest month of the year-The Hotel is $125/night or more at the Player Rate. There is almost nothing within 30 miles of the place in any direction-then there is not much after that either! (It's 5 hours from NYC) Im surprised anyone plays.

PS- I wonder how many bad jokes #109 has heard

Tell me there's a bloodthirsty serial killer lurking in the shadows too and I'm sold.

For 27th time, there is a full field of 128 players, with no shortage of past, present, and future champions:

[...]

Eleven entrants amongst world top 100

Too bad Dechaine won't play. I always enjoyed watching his trick racking show and manipulation of the balls when his opponent racks. How are the up and coming players going to learn pattern racking if they can't see it first hand, along with interview skills loaded with narcissism?

Sorry for my ignorance about when the event is schedules to start, but the OP stated "The 2016-2017 Season Finale, the "Turning Stone Classic XXVIII 9-Ball Open" is now official and scheduled for August 31 thru September 3, 2017.". That is not on the coldest month of the year. Next month is the coldest month of the year. Sorry for my confusion, but is this event in January (which is the coldest month of the year), or is it at the end of August (like the OP stated?)?

They aren't on the player list for Turning Stone XXVII, which is 3 weeks from now.

Oh, okay. I did not know. The August 31st note that the OP made confused me. That is the only thing that I saw. I see the actual date in the title of the OP's thread now. Silly me.

Thanks. I see Nelson is entered in the Turning Stone event so I guess MD was the only one banned, if that's true.

While I've made no attempt to confirm, as I really don't care either way, word was MD threatened to beat Zuglans ASS right to his face and that is why he is banned. I wonder if your a professional pool player and get banned / barred from coming to work how freaking embarrassing that must be lol????. Now not to say I've never gotten out of line and been tossed for the night, but no one's ever had the balls to actually ban / bar me. If that were my way of feeding myself , it's got to be a tough PILL to swallow. From what has been said on AZ, Mikes banning seems like it has the potential for him to take A HUGE hit in his pocket book - more than just his bread and butter beloved Joss tour.

At some point ( and I believe in the not too distant future ) probably a case of chapstick will be in order.

Threat of violence would be unacceptable. I spent more time at that tournament than I have spent at a tourney in a long time. This is the first I've heard of it happening. But as always. I wish Mike Zuglan a great event.

We all know Dechaine hates Dennis Hatch too. There is the ultimate parking lot match-up for bare knuckle boxing. "Timed at 13 seconds of the first round, a knockout has been declared."...........and all of the spectators carrying little zippered leather cases cheered.

And I'm sure that Matchroom will announce on about January 2nd that this is a MC point event.....and Bergman, Dechaine and Woodward don't appear to be signed up.

It's OK though.
There will be some bar box championships to compensate so that certain individuals can pump up in points.
Or they can just bypass the system and get byes into Mosconi cup anyway like always seems to happen.

for what Mike said about Donnie Mills at the last event threw even his most staunch supporters off.

Its a shame Mike is such a tool as he can deliver quality on the table however if I ever ran a tournament and he acted like he does i dont see why would I invite him back and just take his antics

Didn't he have a racist tirade against Ernesto or Oscar and make a spectacle of himself somewhere a while back?

I dont care what people do on the table. No amount of talent can absolve them from being disgusting human beings.

That is EXACTLY what is wrong with pool today.
Too many people think that because someone has talent, that people should look past and ignore the collosal piece of sh!t that they are as a human being that everyone knows about.

Guy is a living legend/pool god, lets just ignore he's a whackjob because he's in the hall of fame and he's a good draw and sells tickets.

Guy is a known drug dealer/junkie, lets just give him a pass cause he shoots straight and thats all we care about.

Guys get busted for breaking into change machines, lets hail them as heros because they generate a lot of action in the back room.

Guy is a total douchebag everywhere they go, lets all be like mom on TV defending her son that just committed murder, post their graduation picture in a cap and gown, and say he is really a good decent human being and lets give him a chance because he can run out.

That is how stupid pool is.
Why not start holding people accountable for their garbage.
It will only better the game.

I heard the rumor that Shane won't go to Turning Stone cause of the racking rules and the arguments that it causes. Call this rumor unconfirmed cause I did not hear it directly from him.

I did hear directly from him that there are other reasons he isn't going. He didn't mention anything about racking issues. However he can share whatever he wants to share about that situation.

KMRUNOUT

If that's true then the ban is completely justified.
I like Mike Z, a lot, and threatening to beat his ass is way over the line, IMO

Im trying to figure out who #2 is! I'll have to go down the AZB money list til i figure it out.

Yeah, I agree, and it amazes me that Mike D would do something that stupid, knowing that he would never be allowed in any of the Joss tour events ever again. Anyone with half a brain should have better sense. It makes me wonder if the story is even true.
