Can anyone tell me about this 1992 Joss? It has EW written next to the date. There isn't a seam on this graphic so I think it may be a custom paint job. It has like a brick castle and a storm with some metal flake in the clear over it.

I've never seen one like it. It plays great and the shaft is straight.

I won an 8 ball bank tournament with it before I actually owned it and used the money as a deposit before I paid it off years ago.

Any info on this cue would be appreciated.

I have to disagree with you Ken,no offense or disrespect at all.

That looks like someone's good but not top-notch home airbrush job,and someone that knew enough to not trash it.

I've known a guy locally for years that has been doing custom airbrush work on cars, dirt bike and street bike helmets, and even whole bikes and this looks like some of his early stuff.

It isn't the guy I know or I'd have heard about it and got this cue while it was still original.

I know where not one but 2 Color of Money cue reproductions from this same early 90's period are.

Joss never made one like this that I know of,but I kinda like the fact the gold silk-screened logos were left unmolested, and it's sharp for what it is,even with what looks like the original wrap.

There is a Darren Hill cue out there with world-class airbrushing that sold for over 12k I think.

With just one shaft,if it is straight and playable as he says that cue would be worth about 200-350 to me if it was still in original form.

With the way it is,somebody is liable to see that and want it so bad that 600 might be worth it to them.

I'd swear that isn't decals though .

I can also guarantee he won't hurt it playing pool, unless the occasional insert failure happens, which was fairly common in that time period. It might even be a great break cue.

Nice find there dog ,Tommy D.

re: airbrushing

There is a guy not too far from me in Ohio who does some INSANE airbrushing on cues...I saw one of his jobs at Indiana State VNEA a couple of years ago, and I actually thought the points were inlaid....it looked THAT good.

EW92 is an airbrush model number manufactured during the early 1990's by the AES company.
inexpensive amatuer type sold during late nite television, home shopping club ect.

I have your answer

I bought the cue new in 1991 (plain jane Joss cue) think it was like $250 and had it airbrushed by a friend of mine for the heck of it in 92 for $50 bucks, i let him come up with the design, I think he was think wizard type theme, he put my initials in the butt section and clear coated at another friends car dealership. I sold it around 94 to a nice colored guy in my pool league at Total Sports in Mt. Clemans Mi for i think $300, Wow amazed I ran across it here.

Well that's the real story
