Does anyone have any idea where I can look online to see a JOss flyer, or Joss cues from around 1992? My dad bought a new cue back then when I started playing at 18yrs for me that cost 1100.00 and I was wanting to see an old flyer to look at..anyone have any ideas..ive tried googling

I can't think of any Joss (East) that was that much back then. I have a higher-end Joss Limited from that era and I believe that was $500-550 or so.
 
Im not sure about 92, but this was the top end of the A series from the mid 90s

Post a photo of the Cue, I have a number of the original catalogs.
 
Unfortunately i dont have apicture..I sold it to a guy...he still has it and when he gets back from working on the road he said he will sell it to me..so should be in about a month.and it was definately a Joss East...dad bought it new in 1991......I know it was like 1000...

How about some of the cue stuff from (the billiards enclopedia) what are the makings from the cue--blue book on cues sayes-JOSS- on the butt cap-1968-1972. In the 70's the joss is on a ring in the buttcap. I will look for the old broche( a cuemaker friend has plenty of this stuff(5/16-18 pin)Pages 369 and 370 in billiards Encyl- under current cuemakers.page 420 in B ency shows bill stroud cues marvelous assortment, A picture would help too-I pm later about broche mark
 
Dan Janes still made at that time, and I think still does, make a custom once in a while. A friend of mine got one around that time and I think it was around $800.00. So it's not out of the question. Wouldn't have been in a catalog, though. Dan has posted here a bit lately.
 
I have pics coming tonight maybe from my friend....he said the cue is really beat up..I am going to try and get it back since it was my 1st REAL cue....I remember it had alot of ivory inlays...had black joint protectors...lots of diff color veneers...

Maybe I don't understand. Why would you want to see a flyer again?

Anyway, yes, right around the early 1990's, Joss' catalog cues had their top end at over $1000. The very top end IIRC was about $2500 on their catalog. Ivory ferrules and ivory inlays, brown stained forward, black w/white Irish Linen. Sound about right?

Viking at the same time had a $1000 cue as their top cue in their catalog at the same time.

I am 100% sure I have a catalog from that time at the house, and I'm 98% sure I'll never find it. But, I'll give it a go tonight if I remember.

Just because I want to see it is all..no particular reasons...do women have to have a reason for doing what we do?...ponder that one for a second or 2..lol

And not peronally wanting a flyer...I just want to see pictures of the cues from 1990-say 1992..its really no big deal..just something I would like to look at though

Floating points?? This sounds like my friend's cue. His was definitely custom made by Dan, though.

I think so. It would be the same model that Mike Sigel played with.

I would think that any high-end cue like that, catalog or not can be considered one-at-a-time made by the master of the company. Dan said that he made about 12 cues a year (back then?). Maybe any of these that were ordered counted toward that number?
