Josswest finished

Hope to see you at DCC

Billy, you had a great run as a cue maker and I'm sure you are proud of all you accomplished in your career.

I saw earlier in this thread that Jack Potter may get to Derby City this month and Alfie may make it as well. We could have a pretty good Cotton Palace reunion.

Some of you may not know this, but, back in the 80's SMITHSONIAN MAGAZINE did an in depth article on Bill. It included not only his great cue making abilities, but, also about his life on the road playing pool. Sadly, I have lost my copy. :(

Steve, here's the article you spoke of online which I used to have in hard copy too:

Bill...Good Luck on your new billiard related and non-related ventures! Thanks for all you've done for cue making as well as the billiards community!

P.S. Can't wait to see Mhaimi's cue come to life! Is that going to be the last Josswest cue?

gina, no way

Yikes! You sure its not a Gina? I have never heard of one of Bill's cues as having the "domino pattern" like I have the older Ginas.

i sent this cue to bill simpson in 2001 to have it appraised he said it was a jw worth appx 3k at that time. if mr stroud sees these photos maybe he can confirm that's its his work.

WOWWWWWW!!!! AWESOME. I have never seen that version, but I REALLLY like it. Thanks for posting pics If you decide you want to sell it, let me know. That cue is cool.:thumbup::thumbup:

Thank you!

By a strange twist of fate a cue from among the first five Dan and I sold at Johnson City turned up for repair. It's over 40 years old and still straight.

Bill Stroud

Bill,

I met you at The Billiard Expo several years ago. I showed you a cue that was from Dan & your early days. I sent it to you for a refinish and replacement for the ivory joint collar. I think it's over 40 years old, as well. Still straight (both original shafts) AND I use it every week!

I am truly honored to have met you. Thank you for the pleasure of enjoying your fine craftsmanship.

Frank Bilotta
