Somebody pick up that pin that just dropped.....I know I heard something.

I think that it's called "The Silence of the Lambs".

At this point, aside from the players that have earned and deserve their tournament money, does it really matter as far as the longer term prospects for the IPT go? I think that so much pr and credibility damage has been done that the IPT is limping to the finish line. I feel bad for the players and fans, the ones that put their heart and soul on the line and have been constantly deceived and violated from day one. Yes, a few big names had a couple of great pay days and good for them, IF they were paid in cash and in full, not in stock options, and not payment promises.

Understandingly, most players that are owed money are hoping that the tour will continue and will not publicly denounce the IPT or express their displeasure. They can't be blamed, they have a lot to possibly loose.

And I don't think that there is one single person who posts here that doesn't wish that pool would become respectable and mainstream, with livable purses and national exposure. But there's an old saying, "a fish rots from it's head down". Quite frankly, KT is impossible for many people to root for, and although most of the IPT's employees are totally professional and respectable, most have no alternative but to follow upper management's directions.

The IPT organization will reflect KT's former business practices, which display a strong disregard for honesty, fairness, respect and credibility. These are all necessary leadership qualities required for a positive imaged pool tour, not only good for the fans but also for the players.

But, all of us, except the players, are wasting our typing strokes. Many of their futures are on the line, they're following a dream that they want to believe it, and who can blame them, certainly not I. And when, and if, they recieve their checks, all will be forgiven and everyone will kiss and make up .... until the next tournament cancellation, increase in qualifier fees or non-payment of prize money.

I, personally, cannot believe a thing KT says, whether it's another sale of the IPT, the amount of the sale, their financial viability, their tv ratings or his $100,000.00 guarantee. He will do as he pleases as long as he believes that he will benefit from it, and when he believes that he will not - well, all bets and promoses are off. Right now he is probably calculating whether or not the monies owed are worth it for him to pay.

I really hope that the checks are recieved tomorrow and that there are future opportubities for the players to make some well deserved money.

I wonder

assuming the money owed is not paid....can he be sued for the money? I know lawsuits are not always good options (given what lawyers take in fees), but still I wonder... I mean, if he knows he could be sued, maybe that will make him decide to pay....

"Might" be a little early, but, maybe not.
What about all the Qualifiers last weekend and this weekend?
This is all beyond logic.

this is Bernie Friend original IPT player/member, as of today thursday the 21st. of september 2006 i have not recieved any payment for the reno tournament. i have e-mailed deno and lindsay in a firm almost obnoxious was, without being too over the top, but made it clear, that the professional way to go is to tell me the exact status of where and when i could get y hands on my $5,000 check. i will await their e-mail response. we are all in this together, weather your in the IPT or not, we all know that not a soul was paid as of yet, as of this moment we shall consider this an oversight on the IPT'S part, however, if the checks haven't arrived in my hand by late next week, i will consider it a major scam, ripp off and will take legal actions against the IPT. now, for any of you out there who wanna say what you wanna say against me, i suggest you stop and look at me as a spearheader who may start a anti IPT movment, i got balls and brains, and i'm not afriad to say what i feel on this forum. too bad the same can't be said for the others that are IPT members here. i guess they are freightned little people, that hide from the big white rich man that could take their money away because they have to "keep in line" well i say screw that, this is america, and i will stand up for what is right, and right now what is right is being paid, i have no time for nice words now, for i am getting pissed off.

Bernie,
That's all well and good, but as you yourself pointed out, you probably won't have a tour card next year, so it's a little easier for you to speak out than for those who are hoping to continue on the tour in 2007.
I think it is good that you can do what you feel is right, but your comment about the "frightened little people that hide from the big white rich man" was completely uncalled for. Your actions aren't going to cost you a $100,000 job. The same actions by others, could.

You mean to say players are not allowed to speak their mind on this matter because they will get the sack by big bad KT? Players are not allowed to complain about not being payed?

If this is true its blackmail to threaten player with suspension from a tour card they rightfully earned.

Bernie you have two choices, you can cower and shut your mouth or make a stand for what you know is right.

Bernie I commend you for making a stand. You have every right.

Even if you were payed tomorrow you've still asked all the right questions.

still hoping

seems someone said they had to wait 3 weeks for their check after the Vegas tournament....if that is so, maybe it is premature to panic yet.....anyway, I'm still hoping for the best......

If I go on a public forum and blast my employer, I would do so with the expectation that they might find out, and decide to terminate my employment. That's not blackmail...just common sense!

What's he got to lose, his paycheck? After the way he has been treated, why go back to work for him?

IPT/Trudeau is not his employer.

IPT/KT tells them when to be there, how to dress, when to begin playing (working), when to sign autographs, and agrees to pay them in exchange for their services. IPT/KT also determines how much they will make based on how well they do their job. In business circles, this is often called "Pay for Performance" or "Commission". The players are "Professional" which means this is their livelihood. Whether they are employees or contractors, it's the same relationship.
