just curious who was the cue maker that ordered them

It sounds like Joey Gold...Cognoscenti. Maybe he's on hiatus and will be back to make cues again some day. Real nice build quality on the few cogs I saw.

What??? That's Joe Barringer peddling his shaft stock.

Shafted

I bought some of Joe's golden shaft for a friend, and he was very disapointed, but he wouldn't let me send them back. He said thats not the way to do bussiness. The were junk. Jim

Pictures wouldn't matter!

Gee, I wonder why there's no pictures? LOL!!!

It wouldn't matter if there were pictures. The last time (and I mean the LAST time) I bought from Cue Components, I didn't get what was pictured anyway. After several rounds of e-mails to which I received snotty replies, he finally admitted that I didn't get what I ordered. He never did offer to send me the right shaft blanks. I just look at it as a $60.00 lesson :o

Hi Kelly,

Not to say that I don't have a :eek:special:eek: place in my heart for Joe at Cue Components, but that had nothing to do with my avatar. I just always loved that picture and thought it went well with my screen name!

BTW, is that lathe up and running?

I installed leveling mounts and leveled it the other day. I wired it up and turned it on last night. I still need to buy a few necessary items (need more $$ LOL) before I do much, but I shouldn't be too far away from making some saw dust.

Other things keep getting in the way. I have to take a week long trip to Porltand  for work so things are moving slow for me as usual. I am perfectly ok with taking it slow though...even tortoises eventually get where they are going. :D

"Your satisfaction is guaranteed and all items are as represented or we will issue a prompt and cheerful refund (returns must be made within 3 days of receipt)."

So your saying this may be a bit misleading?

No, I said nothing about it being misleading. Go back and reread my post. He sent me the wrong shaft blanks. It wasn't that I was unhappy with the product I bought....I may have been more than happy with the product I bought, but I DIDN'T GET the product I bought. After his initial snotty e-mail replies, he finally admitted that! I would have expected him the apologize and send me what I ordered, instead of wanting me to ship his mistake back to him at my expense!

what was the item as i cant get the link to work, i heve been waiting 6 weeks now for some shafts from c c now, paul..

what I meant was the cheerful refund part being misleading. Glad that isn't what you meant I think, and sorry to infer something.

I've bought a few things from Joe myself and the one thing that really disappointed me was when I emailed him about making a cue for me. It was a simple design, Macassor ebony forearm and butt with a Hawaiian Koa handle and Ivory joint and butt with some nice looking rings and I wanted it 59 inches. I got a similar snotty reply back that he wouldn't even make that cue and even if he would his waiting list is so long that he couldn't take the order. I thought this was funny because every week he puts 1 or 2 cues of this basic design on ebay!

Is there any reason why this cue couldn't be made? If it could what would a ball park price be on it from some of you real cuemakers?

Thanks
Dave

With a lightweight pin in the joint and A-joint I think it would play quite fine.
