Just wanted to thank everyone who lended their thoughts to My router issues last week. The dewalt is still going, and I got My feed worked out where they are holding a good profile again. The limit switch I setup also worked out well. Nice to have alittle added protection just in case I'm away from the lathe too long while making a pass on It. It's also nice that I can turn all the way down to final size shafts, without standing there making a human steadyrest out of Myself:p

Also want to Thanks Dave, Who was kind enough to rush me a set of new bearings for the porter. I'm happy to say that installing those went well, so now I have two good running routers.:) Right now I'm using one with a new bit in the collet for finish turns, and one with a used bit that i'm doing ruff passes with. nice to just unbolt one and bolt the other up, instead of fighting with changing bits everytime.

I thought I May set one up fixed position for slot cutting billet, but now I'm thinking another router would be nice for that:rolleyes: :p .

:) Kelley, you can never have too many tools. I have 5 routers designated for their each individual task, and several standby's incase one needs immediate replacement.

Hey Eric, you are right, you can't have too many routers for multiple setups. But, you spelled my name wrong, and I didn't make the original post. :D :p :D

Drink another beer Eric. :)

Well in that case send away, and add some spindles with tailstocks while your at it:p. Suddenly My old ones ended up with a couple 12g slugs in them:eek: :D

Seriously though, have any idea what that one goes for? gotta be atleast 25K I would think, but i'm guessing that's one of the big boys. Seems like they can go alot higher then that, but It seems like someone mentioned getting into one of their machines for around that price, they go way up in price from there don't they.

Yes.
I saw one at one of the classrooms/labs I actually support for the high schools here. I helped setup their lab. They have 20+ computers loaded with Mastercam, Inventor and Autocad.
They just got a new 30 by 24 Techno with an EV high speed spindle ( 5 HP's ).
What I saw this machine made just boggled me. They scanned a pictured and they machined a plastic to make a mold out of that face in the picture.
This is the machine but the one they had was on it's one stand.

It costs 11K w/out the spindle.
But, I got one in the works now with all the help from Edwin Bandido Reyes. :)
