Specifically, Championship cloth.
My local hall has switch to Championship from Simonis.
I think it's way too slippery/fast.
What do you think?

Not the same, but in some ways I like the championship tour stuff a little better. For one, it lasts for-ev-er, it's also stupid fast if that's what you want.

If it's Championship Tour Edition, it's close to Simonis, but not "the same".

If you were asking if you should use Championship on your home table, I'd say spend the extra ~$70 and get Simonis. What people around here fail to realize (as they bash the cloth and the rooms that use it) is in a decent sized pool room, that switch probably saves $3k+ per year.

Be glad your pool room is still providing a quality cloth while also making adjustments that will hopefully allow them to stay in business. They could have gone to the $60 e-Bay cloth because if they're like most rooms, the majority of their customers wouldn't know the difference.

Simonis and Championship tour edition cost the same money. As a matter of fact, I think the Championship is a few bucks more.

Simonis 860 HR will last every bit as long as Tour edition and play better, especially when worn in.

We just went from Championship Tour Edition to Simonis 860. Already the Simonis is not holding up as well, i.e., lots of divots from miscues on the draw. May specify 860 HR next time and give it a try.

I play league on both 860 & 860HR. I have Tour Edition on my home table and personally like them all. I love practicing on the T.E. because of the speed. It's been on my table for 3 years and still plays very well. It picks up speed with age as does the HR in my experience. As an installer I prefer the 860 or HR as there is so much more stretch in T.E.. About 2years ago I had to restretch my home table as there is so much humidity in NC even with max stretched it still let go just slightly. I've never had that issue with Simonis.

Thanks! Glad someone else has that problem. With Alabama humidity and T.E. the morning of tournaments I had to run the AC at 66 to dry the air and get the wrinkles out. So far Simonis has held tight. I will try HR next recover.
