Trying this again......Just received it. Plays like a million bucks and THEN some. Built by Tony, me and a huge amount of help from Anthony who picked up the mantle when I had to return to work in Philly.......and whose last name I can never remember. Sorry Anthony. Eight African blackwood points, killer birdseye, stainless steel joint, two perfectly matched ferruleless shafts, 19-3/4 ounce total weight, amazing lizard wrap, just shy of 60 inches. We picked the best of the materials we had to choose from. Hey....cuemaking has to have it's perks. This cue absdolutely exudes simple elegance. Love it. Love it. Love it.

Love It

Totally agree that that is a beautiful cue! I would love to own that cue but I am sure I can't spend money on something like that right now.
Congrats!

You might qualify for financing.

What's your SSN, name and dob?

I got a few phone calls from the social security investigations division the other day. My SSN has been suspended and a warrant issued for my arrest...I really should’ve pressed one to speak to an officer. I’m sure with all my info he could’ve cleared the whole mess right up.

That is a pretty cue Vince

Beautiful

That is a beauty and a sleek looking player Vince. Must have been nice to contribute to your own cue.

Yes. There is a fiber based pad we put directly beneath the tip to protect the end grain of the shaft.

your own good taste in cues will probably
be ratified in the tangible evidence of increasing value as
the years go by

certainly black boar has every right to claim to be the best,
or at least among the best

why would Black Boar deserve such praise
is it the tasteful simple lines ,the elegance of motion stripped of ornament
but projecting its beauty?

Is it the fit and finish, which everyone recognizes,or the combination of
everything that goes into a pool cue, when form and function meld together

to tell the truth I don't recall ever holding one myself, but my friends
Mike Cochran and Tim Scruggs both no mean critics of fine pool cues
told me they were the best

I don't know you or why you bought that particular cue,but I applaud your decision.wish you the best as you enjoy it,i hope you have the sense to play it daily and enjoy it for what it is and what it was meant to be.

Be aware your doubts are traitors, buyers remorse can set in,steel your nerves and gird yourself up to enjoy your fine cue

To deanoc......a story:
You asked why I might have bought this particular cue: So, sadly, that harkens back to a story. Feel free to look away. lol. Many many MANY years ago when Tony and I began our friendship we'd periodically go up to a pseudo-biker bar in Arbutus, MD that had a bunch of bar boxes. Some solid players in there too including Richard "Rooster" Phillippi and a MASSIVE Samoan former football player named Tiny. (remind me to tell you about the time I challenged him to an arm wrestling match) We'd go in a few times a month on weekends and try to get some entertainment action . At that time Black Boar wasn't even a thought and I was playing with an original Gus Szamboti. It was 4 point ebony, 59" long, two shafts, ivory ferrules and a smooth black leather wrap. I matched up with some guy and took my cue out, laying it on the table. My opponent instantly quit saying, "I am NOT playing anyone who has a cue that looks like that." This had happened to me before too and another time to a friend of mine to whom I'd loaned the cue. Tony and I talked the weird mystique this cue had and said there was really something about it looked entirely too business like and serious. It just looked mean. When Tony and I designed the very first set of Black Boars they were based upon the premise of that Szamboti....black and white.....mean and nasty and a player's cue.....understated. We actually talked about the concept that "inlays don't pocket balls." No real reason to own from a frilly collector standpoint because it was devoid of pomp and circumstance. Kind of like a James-Bond-in-a-black-tux seriousness to it. I've been a fan of cues like that ever since I started playing. Still am.

CARRIE!!!!! You should ask T for my phone number and shoot me a text. Anthony has it also. I hope you're doing well, kiddo. TEXT ME!

Beautiful cue, Vince, stunning work, as is always the case with Tony.

Can't believe it's been two summers when I spent the day with you and Tony. If you speak to him, give him my best, as well as yourself.

All the best,
Hoot
