There basicaly the same machine but the g4003g has a light bigger hole through and and a d1-5 cam lock.. other than that there the same lathe..

doesn't the gun lathe have a different tailstock and set to tighter tolerances than the reat of their lathes?

JBCustomCues said:nope.. When I talked to grizzly its basicaly the exact same lathe just with those few up grades that I mentioned earlier..
Kelly_Guy said:They advertize it as having a better tail stock.
Any reason why you went for the gear head instead of the 11 by 37 belt?JBCustomCues said:The only difference in the two is one will except a 1/2" drive ratchet to accept a torque wrench. other than that its the exact same tail stock.. and even to some of the tech's I've talked to at grizzly they say the square head feature is more of a hassle than its worth..
That's a great reason!!!!JBCustomCues said:yea I got it used for almost half the price of new..
Randy9Ball said:Grizzly makes some fine machines. I have one of their spiral cutterhead jointers. I was recently in Dale Perry's shop for some shaft work and every machine in his shop is Grizzly from what I could see.
