I'm sure this has been posted before and that many of you have seen this video, but it really helped enforce some things for me and what I found most interesting (DUH) was how Sigel would play position for multiple balls at a time rather than specific ones. Which also enforces the concept of clearing areas up. Usually don't have these options in one pocket (which I'm more used to) because you have to stay behind the balls most of the time.

Been playing straight pool for a couple days total and have so much to learn but info like this makes it a little easier to grasp.

Thanks for the link. Watching it right now. Some good stuff on the english used on various break shots, I had to find out about the low breakshot on the side of the rack english the hard way. Mike Sigel is among the best straight pool players ever. Like him or not, he does play the game correctly. I had only seen some clips from this video, so thanks again.

No problem!

I'm not a great player, but I would say it a different way....
I imagine Sigel was playing position for a specific ball, but leaving himself a back up option on another ball, if his position was off.

(in contrast, I truly used to play position for "multiple balls", because my position play was bad. I was more or less trying to get to the center of the table, just so I would have another shot.)

The Sigel video seems to be public again - I can post the link if anyone needs it (and it's ok by the youtube poster! )

Here is the Rempe video - man so helpful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRcEHea7zJk

Here's a rip of all 3 of the "Run Out" videos - pretty helpful too:

http://www.veoh.com/watch/v15266577n4smRR7x?h1=Sigel+run+out+

I finally ran my first rank of 14.1 - I think the "run out 9 ball" video helped a lot cause MS explains what spin/english he is using each shot - then I just started doing the Rempe brainwash drill - and oh man..talk about a wash - my poor straight pool brain prob only needs a "light rinse" ha - enjoy

Reminds me of something Ortmann said on his accustats player review video. He sees groups of balls because if he sees 15 balls he sees 15 problems. It's a good video.
