Off-roading in the mountains? He might be learning that lesson most old men learn sooner or later.
 
A lot of us have been young and wild in the past. Hope he has learned from this experience and has a full recovery.

I was in ICU for a week and in the hospital for 30 days as a result of being young and wild. Later in life my left knee had to be replaced and I got Hep C. All related to the car accident when I was 21.

Now I am 71 and can look back and say. WTF was I thinking or not thinking??

Live and learn. I wish him all the best for a full and speedy recovery!
 
Sad news indeed, but he's young and healthy and a 100% recovery is likely. His patience will, of course, be tested, but we all look forward to the day when he can resume his very promising career as a professional cueist. Wishing this towering presence in pool a speedy and complete recovery.
 
I was so happy to see Kaci at the last Matchroom event with his younger and older brothers accompanying him. Family is everything. And how about that Kledio Kaci! I loved seeing him do well.

The celebrity and stardom that go with being a pool star can weigh heavy. I have a great of respect for his family, and I know they support Eklent is all his pool endeavors. And most importantly, they love him very much. He's a young guy who likes to have fun, as most young folk do. I think he won't be doing any off-track riding anymore. At least I hope so. It is dangerous. I'm glad he survived but am sorry he did incur some injuries, requiring pins put in his arm. I have a pin in my ankle since I was in my 20s. It's still there, and I have no problems with it. So I think he'll be okay, but I am so sad this happened.

Sending healing light his way. I can't wait to see him back on the tournament trail again.

Well said. We've all done some stupid things. I am on the list of those that never paid a steep price for the indiscretions of my youth. For example, when I was 14, I rode my bike one day despite knowing the brakes were a bit faulty and I had an accident which, under different circumstances, might have been more serious.

Kaci risked his career through his actions. His story jarred a memory for me and that was the story of Bobby Hurley, one of the best ever American collegiate basketball players who seemed on his way to being a big star at the pro level. During his rookie year as a pro, however, he was in a car accident and wasn't wearing a seatbelt, and the injuries he sustained were so serious that, despite a comeback bid, he was never the same and had a very short pro basketball career.

Kaci, a beloved figure in pro pool, will learn a lot here and he'll become a better man because of it.

I truly hope and pray he does learn from this and it is a learning lesson he benefits from.

He seems to be a genuinely nice guy in all ways. When Earl trashed him after this loss to Eklent, he just smiled and let it be. That moment told me a lot about his character.

He is a wonderful asset to the ‘new’ pool community. It is changing rapidly and youths like him are the future!

And not long after Hurley’s accident another Duke player Jason Williams, who was a player with even higher NBA potential also ended a promising career in a motorcycle accident.
