Kamui Chalk on Ebay. $76.00 and climing!

So the proxy bids by the first guy show up only after the second guy puts in his higher bid, and all the incremental bids show even though they are less than the second bid?

In regard to your possible theories, I note the guy has only one other item for auction right now - a Kamui gator tool.

That's right, eBay only uses that portion of your bid that is needed to out bid the next highest bid. That way you can bid $1000 and get something for $35, assuming the next high bid is only $34 (or whatever the bid increment is at that level).

That gator thing is also (possibly) used by the space aliens to ratchet their infrared visors,

This chalk is no different than a masters or triangle chalk.I still miscue using Blue Diamond on a Kamui soft if I don't dress the tip properly.Laziness and stupidity causes miscuing, and no chalk in the world will teach you to chalk after every shot and to chalk properly. If this Kamui chalk claims that you only chalk once every rack would only make sense to me if you chalked once then missed your shot and your opponent ran the rack out.In that case fine, you only needed to chalk once, besides that, they are praying on the less skilled and the misinformed to sell a product to a group of players grasping on any hope in the world to improve there game.In this case its overpriced chalk:nono:

You sir are the ignorant/misinformed one. You are passing judgement on a product you have obviously not tried.

Really? The hype of the Blue Diamond was the next big thing, now this.If I chalk only once a rack with any chalk it would last longer wouldn't it?Hey if there cashing in on the hype then its a great business idea since Kamui tips are the big thing right now,why not.I've yet to see a pro chalk only once during a rack there running out with any chalk. And if I'm ignorant for having a opinion, then I'm still better off than the guy buying a 76.00 dollar piece of chalk. Not sure what you would call him,a genius I guess:withstupid:

I have heard the chalk rocks. What its worth is clearly a matter of opinion, but I hear its great stuff.

I absolutely love it. Its all I play with now. Sure it is expensive, and it does the same thing as a .25 cent peice of chalk....but then a $100 cue does the same thing $2000 cue does...same with a $75 case vs a $400 case.

My point being it is all about preference, and I love thr way it feels.

100 dollar cue does the same as a 2000 dollar cue, well now I know I'm discussing this with the misinformed if you truly believe that.I have a sleeve case worth about $2 and a Instroke worth $300 and if you don't know the attributes the Instroke case provides over the sleeve then you might need something a little stronger than Kamui chalk, maybe Vodka:wink:

I totally understand your point, and again, I've heard its great stuff. It doesn't have to be relative, a $300,000 Bentley doesn't have to do the job 20 times better than a $15,000 Toyota, just better enough that some people with $300,000 to spend on a rig are willing to spend it.

I get that some folk feel inclined to stand on the curb and shake their fists when the Bentley drives by, but really they are saying far more about themselves than they are about the car or the driver.

Meantime, back to the auction, I wonder what kind of light years per cube the space aliens get with this chalk.

Thanks

Kevin

Not everyone pays $76

Some pay $30 for it! It is different indeed,to me it is worth $30 and Szamboti's are worth more than Viking. Some of Jacks cases are $3500 in Gator and I have a few. Nice things aren't for everyone. You should try it before you give it a review and make an ass out of youself! Ron

How is that making an ass out of anything?I believe a 2000 dollar cue may play better than a 100 dollar cue or was it that a 300 dollar case might have better attributes than a 2 dollar sleeve case or that a piece of chalk that claims that you only need to chalk once a rack is horseshit and when hearing that made me never want to try it because of that.Again I am aloud an opinion.Just like Blue Diamond Chalk, all hype and yes I have tryed it and if you chalk every shot Masters would do just fine. And again thats just my opinion. Thanks the"Ass":kma:

Ron

NO WAY. No Justis Case can be worth $3500. I have a Barton in "just as good as gator" leather and I think it was $375. I put my cues in it and it carries them and I think once a girl with great knockers told me "nice case".

So there!!!!!!!!

Kevin

PS My old Adam cue has 2 shafts just like your Szam. Oh wait *counting shafts*. Anyway it screws together and has a ferrule and a butt cap and a wrap and some wood and a tip!!!!!!!! So there!

I also have a computer generated copy of a Picasso that when hung on my wall looks just as good (well almost) as the original. Those people that pay 7 million are out of their minds!

To form an opinion without trying it, well you have no clue.It is not like regular chalk gritty, dust falling off as you grind it on the tip. You wipe it on and it stays on for several games. Ron

This auction is a re post for the same chalk it looks like?? I know because I was out bid on it last week by $1 and he put it up again the next day. He sold a cube last week for $37 and now it has more than doubled to over $76. Something seems fishy with it.

*** I do play with it and love it. I know it's expensive but the cube I have now has paid for itself IMO.

The times are right, that's how eBay works their proxy bids. Not saying anything about the bidders and I'm still sticking to my alien spacecraft theory, however in the last 90 days there have been 25 closed auctions for one cube of Kamui chalk ranging from 29 to 57 dollars. Those space aliens might be in dire need this week (either that or that huge corporation is committing fraud by shilling their own product, or maybe, just maybe, some guys really want it).

So if I understand this correctly, in this particular auction the item opened at $25, someone bid $26, and the very next bid was $50?
