kelly fisher wins women's heyball world championship

I thought the C8B events were paying 500k USD range to the winner?

maybe not to women. idk. i only caught the tail end of this, and the tail end of a very diminutive french girl beating siming chen yesterday. marion jude, never seen her before, but she was remarkable! obviously lost to kelly in the semi

Good job KF. First saw her play in a OBTour event at Magoo's in Tulsa 20odd yrs ago. Great player. All that being said watching this just reinforces, to ME anyway, just how sterile/vanilla Heyball is. Sure it requires precision but its not entertaining, there's no rhythm/flow or 'snap' to he game. I've tried on multiple occasions to sweat it but this game is just flat imo. sue me.

There is a lot to be improved I agree. But it's not without its charm.

Fisher has a resume like no other. So she has world championship titles in 9-ball, 10-ball, snooker, English billiards, and now heyball? Crazy.

Cool stuff. I didn't know she even played English Billiards. Any idea when she won that world championship?

Isn't English Billiards a no brainer? I don't think there are many situations where no point is possible. Yeah there's the convention and dignity and all that...
I think you can caveman around and or through all that.

i assume there are so few female contestants that a snooker champ is automatically a favorite. very niche discipline these days and even more so for women

kelly was on the doggin' it podcast the other day and spoke about her drought of trophies the last couple of years. kind of cool that she won a WC two days later. she spoke of other things too, it was well worth listening to. always classy and thoughtful
