I read the original. Ed Young (the Chicago cuemaker) has it. The man was a lunatic. I guess he still is. Joe Gold may have a copy.

I wouldn't want a copy.Hell if Joey Gold and Judd cannot read and learn from it I don't want it.Ed Young is probally the only one that can understand it.DaVinci was a genious and so is DPK.

Not trying to start a fight or something like that and I know I do not know as much about cues as alot here but IMO hes a overrated cuemaker. I have seen 4 or 5 of his cues in person with uneven points.

Jim Buss told me he ever read a uncompleted transcript of the DPK book. An excerpt of it "DPK says that wood "talked" to each other so if u are to do some woodcutting, it cannot done at the presence of other wood, or the other wood would be scared and you wont produce a good cue."

I believe DPK turned shafts in a separate room b/c the other woods could hear shafts scream.

The book is awesome, so much info in it. Anyone ever read the book of "Making Blanks" - The Recollections Of Burton Spain. It is also incredible.

Yes, I've got the Spain paper on "Making Blanks". Very interesting stuff. It's probably only about 20 pages. I'd also like to get a hold of the DPK paper too.

Actually, there is something to that, trees having a communication that is.

It's a fact that when fire, smoke, or heat from a fire hits a tree, other trees in the area will react by folding their leaves even before the smoke or heat reaches them.

But I would say it's a little late for any communication by the time the wood is on the lathe. :) :)

A quote from my copy of Kersenbrocks book (No I won't sell it or copy it)

"This is for the psychological comfort of the woods. The cutting and machining of woods is painfull to the woods. If you listen to the sound of a saw cutting you can hear the pain endured by the wood as a screaming sound along with the mechanical cutting sound made by the saw".

A few other tidbits.

"Black ebony seems fairly clean as a shaved chip. But the dust resulting from cutting is fairly dirty, and the sound of the dust turns or feels as if it is moving parallel to gravity or weight lines in short bursts rather than continuously in the universal frames".

"Being sprayed is a extremely raucious experience. And being sanded hurts the finishes as much as it hurts yourself. I would also recomend they not be stored near or within the sight or sound or grinders or grinding operations, due to the pain normally associated with sanding or abrasion".

I saw a copy and there about 17 pages for dimensions for a shaft to thousandths of an inch. Hope you are a math genesis. One cuemaker mention he seen about 15 copies each a little different. How true I don't know.
