Kevin Trudeau - ABC's the Lookout

So Kevin helped nobody what so ever?Give me a break, nobody seen paydays like this
before he came into the pool scene and probably never will.

He comes into a game of crooks and schemers, adds huge paydays and he's the
bad guy:confused:

Kevin screwed up big by saying he could cure cancer which was really stupid.
Although I would bet anybody on earth, that his ''Natural Cures'' books have
some viable information that have helped people across the globe.

He sure isn't as bad as 95% of the politicians across the globe if were talking
ethics.

I'm watching too. Anyone who gave money to something he called the GIN club deserves to get robbed.

Yep, and any pool fanatic who thought IPT was the long awaited "fix" for pool deserved to get robbed. The faster folks come to terms with the fact that pool is a game, and not a "sport", the less money ends up in the pockets of these con artists. I can't help but laugh whenever I hear the term "pro pool player".

I think the pool players themselves had to suspect the IPT was not going to last. But there are stories of families that bought into the hype and put the pressure on the pool playing bread winner to spend some of that big money that was "guaranteed" to be coming in over the next three years.

Cars and other big purchases were left owing when the Trudeau money spigot got turned off on them.

Now I know you can argue that any pool player that would cave to the family requests to spend the money before they saw it deserved to go into debt. But these guys are human too. They want to make the family happy and all the family sees is the man standing up there and guaranteeing that he is funding this project for three years.

Mike

At the end of the day were any of the players really any worse off after the IPT than they were before the IPT? I don't think so but if you want to provide some examples without names then go ahead. I mean the end was of course a fiasco but the players did get paid eventually.

I admit I don't know all the gory details inside and out but there's no shortage of businesses that have come and gone with huge promises of making their investors and employees rich beyond their wildest dreams.

Obviously the unique nature of gambling and sportsmanship make the story more interesting but this isn't too far off from all the other start ups with big hopes and dreams.

In some cases much worse. Think of all the start ups and small businesses that recruited people and convinced them to quit their secure 9-5 to chase the next great idea or fool proof business plan.

Its the nature of start ups.

If you start looking at it more like a business plan that failed and less like criminal intent it makes a lot more sense.

Not to say that KT isn't a shark or worse but businesses go under all the time.

Some people just look for the negative in everything and choose to highlight it and try to destroy any endeavor. For them people are not redeeemable and once a person has done something wrong then they will always be evil.

When I think of "once a person has done something wrong" I don't think of Kevin Trudeau. If you had written "once a person has spent their entire life scamming people and making false promises and taking advantage of anyone and everyone around them constantly and endlessly" then we might be on the same page.

It seems to me that Trudeau is taking all the flack,

How come the US government doesn't get some of the steam?
Legislation was passed about on-line gambling...causing Ho from Macao to
withdraw his decision to be involved with the IPT.
This started the collapse.

Some of the players deserve some steam also...
...Trudeau offered a g-note for any game won with a bank on the 8-ball....
...so some players colluded to end the game with a bank till Trudeau withdrew
the offer.

Regardless of his morals, I think the KT put a lot of real cash into the game.
Has anyone put more?

Remember- This was the most money for a pool event and players got paid-only the last event in Reno was "on the stall" but still, the players got paid AND Deno kept Kevin from bailing on the players with bankruptcy AND EVEN tried to resuscitate the IPT by holdng challenge matches(2007) and a 16 player Pro-Am (2008) which Mika won (and I filmed just about all of it-and interviews galore!)
It's all part of our documentary "Raising the Hustler"
7 years, most every great player and the story of us

There's plenty of stories in pool that would make a good documentary. The IPT saga is just one among them. I'll be looking forward to watching it once it is released.
