Kevin Trudeau on 20/20 tonight

Most likely, yes, as long as at least some of the piece on him pertains to his current business activities and aspirations. If the piece pertains only to his troubled past and his attempts to come to terms with it, maybe not.

Let's hope it comes up. I think it will.

I wouldn't bet on it, they sound like they are going to trash him.
From 20/20:
Jan. 20, 2006 — Are you everything you say you are? Or, like many people, do you have two faces — one you present to the world and one that's the real you? In a special hour, "20/20" brings you stories of people who've re-created themselves and their histories or created careers based on half-truths. Is it lying — or is it just stretching the truth? Is there a difference?

If 20/20 trashes Kevin, we should lobby AZ to bring back Drivermaker to formulate a flaming response to them. :-)

Well they did mention the IPT briefly. But i don't really think that he came out of this interview looking to darn good. Actually pretty lousy i would say. To bad to. Maybe he should have done a sit down with them this time. But then again, the last time he did they caught him lying. So who do we believe, KT or 20/20 whom i personally think is slanted anyway.............mike

they pretty much trashed him!

said the book was 10% common sense and 90% quackery!

showed him making statements and then called them lies!

very embarassing!

It was a biased review. They even reported that the members and fans of the pool tour were unaware of his past. And sure, try to interview the guy in the middle of one of the biggest events in the history of pool, which he's spearheading.

Imagine that from 20/20 (wish there was an emoticon for the sarcastic look on my face as I typed that), I didn't watch it. A long time ago, I come to the opinion that 20/20 was pretty much in the same line as the National Inquirer. One difference... you can't use 20/20 as emergency toilet paper.

Later,
Bob

Yeah they mentioned it alright. "The Naturalcures.com tournament" is all they said.

It looked like they wanted to do a segment on him and when he wisely wouldn't sit down with them they found a way of using what they had already shot along with some stock footage for another piece. Totaly forgettable and of no consequence one way of another. It did show though how his reputation no matter how you want to spin it will always keep popping up and taint the pool connection. I don't think at any time he can ever do anything regarding pool other then what he is paying for, he will become the story every time and it will be negative. Here you have here a front man who has to run from any cameras.

The IPT need to hire a recognizable front man. Even someone like an Erik Estrada or a Mr. T or any one of a host of out of work has been's who you could hire for a song that will get face time and can stay on message promoting the tour. I don't know if any of you remember but rocker Cindy Lauper had a lot to do with the resurgence of wrestling some years back. You never know what can be the catalyst. KT need to hide in a closet somewhere and just leave his money if he really cares about helping pool.

Those are good suggestions. It also kind of parallels my thoughts in another thread about promoting the players. They're unique characters - promote them like the PGA Tour promotes its players. Most people might not have a clue who Tim Finchem is, but they know who Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, John Daly, etc are.

I don't believe much of what I ever see on 20/20 (they did some crap last week on schools which, while true in many regards, simply failed to look at the big picture), but I saw enough on KT that it merely added to my understanding that his book is crap to begin with.

But if he's turned benevolent profiteer and pool is better for it, I'll ride that wave as long as it's steers clear of the coral reefs.

a long one, but please stay with it

What really bothers me is they try to attack an entrepreneur like this.

... it goes on and on Sorry, but this is all true and if I were to share some real stories told to me by victims and PHD's (qualified therapist) it would make everyone sick.

WHERE IS 20/20 with the real story??????? Oh. lets get KT.

Pete,

With all due respect, why did you segue into this entirely unrelated topic?

As a Roman Catholic, I'm offended by your accusations and think the idea of making the average Catholic pay through the nose for the crimes and misdeeds of specific individuals is a wrong one.

Also, this idea of changing the statute of limitations so more religious bigotry can be spread and a religion trashed and destroyed is beyond the pale.

My heart goes out to those who have been abused. The solution to the problem however is to punish the criminals who commited the deeds, and those who aided and covered up for them, and not to attack the religion as such.

Man, I can't believe that I'm even thinking of defending an ABC show, but here goes...

20/20 has limited resources so they cannot possible cover every story. OK?

Also, 20/20 now is the ONLY "major" news show that has any objectivity left. Hugh Downs was the best; John Stossel is becoming the best. Give him a break and allow him the time to expose things as only he will do. He's lucky he hasn't been fired for what he's exposed so far. He is walking on thin ice with ABC and the controlled news media. I'm surprised he didn't get fired for last week's show explicitly demonstrating how all tax-supported schools suck due to the government-destroyed connection between the payers and the payees.

I missed the interview last night....who did it?...John, or someone else?

Jeff Livingston

Sorry. I was not saying the RC is bad. I'm referrring to an inner religous organization. I am too RC and there are a number of very good people there.

I agree that it's off-topic. Please get back to the topic: KT on 20/20.

Why should someone be above criticism just because they're an entrepreneur? KT is trying to make money (a by-product of which may be "good" for pool), but one of the biggest knocks against him is his past. And as someone who believes past is a pretty good indicator of future, well, I'm not all gung-ho on KT. He seems to be doing a "good thing" so far (albeit one to help his bottom line), but I worry that pool's reputation will be tarnished by association, not necessarily from past acts but perhaps some lame stunt yet to come from KT.
