Kevin Trudeau Payouts

Tennesseejoe...Nope...and nobody has taken as long as Trudeau to PAY OFF either (there are still players that haven't gotten paid, and likely never will). Here's the real kicker...NOBODY in the history of pool has made a bigger play to "SAVE professional pool", and then dashed the hopes and dreams of more professional players...for many permanently. That's quite a resume if you ask me! I don't know if you're trying to idolize this guy or not...but he was/is a crook, plain and simple.

In the last 50 years has anyone payed out more money for professional pool than Kevin Trudeau?

How long did he take to pay off the players?

I remembered the last or previous year world championship held in philippines where the players were also not paid their winnings.

Seems to become a norm. Maybe that is why this sport is becoming sucky. People can get away with behavior like that.

Matchroom Sport have probably paid out TWENTY times what KT has to date (AND THEY ALWAYS PAY AS PROMISED).
With 10 World Championships, Mosconi Cup, World Cup, World Masters and World Pool League they leave the IPT as just a blip on the horizon.

You can bet your retirement fund that CSI- CueSports International produced events will get paid that day! NO second guessing there! I know that CSI event's pay out isn't as large as World Championship purse or ITP's, but money in my pocket today is always better than, "maybe" money in my pocket when I get it...

CSI's collaboration with Matchroom for the World Pool masters could see that event grow apace as time goes on. I wish you success with it.

EFREN REYES! Ever heard of him?

P.S. I have never been paid a dime of the $2,000 I put up for Cliff Joyner to play in a qualifier for an event that was never held. We were "supposedly" going to be reimbursed. Still waiting three years later. There are countless other pool players who are in the same boat. Some have received partial payments and others haven't. It's kind of hit or miss, like the way they chose the original 150 players.

Payouts are not where the money is except for the few how who come in first. And even then this is not big money is the grand scheme of things. He promised he would make pool players marketable. He put ideas in their heads they would be doing commercials and becoming millionaires have health plans and so on. People quit jobs, spent money they didn't have and I would bet messed up more then a few marriages and relationships. He laid down what was nothing more then lies and the poor pool players bought it. He falsely raised hopes that I know a few who were completely devastated, beside themselves when this thing just fell apart.

Regardless of intent, it was almost a cruel hoax on the players. Go back and read some of the threads back then through the todays eyes and what you now know and you will look at it like WTF are you kidding me. The whole business plan was so off the wall and impossible it was ridiculous. He used the oldest trick in the world "Tell people what they want to hear" and it worked. The strangest part is, it was so destine for failure right from the beginning why didn't he see it himself. Was it "Fake it till you make it"?

I would like to see a new thread by the ones who were involved and how it effected them personally and what they may have learned that can help in the future. I am not sure players have used this as the learning experience it should be.
In my opinion it didn't have to fail if done differently.

CueSports International (CSI) has great respect for Matchroom and we are proud to have the type of relation we have with them. It was a very exciting news to the pool world when World Pool Masters expanded 64 players as previous event's 16.

I was not involved with anything Kevin Trudeau has ever done. It seems that there is a lot of emotion about his antics(?). My question was only based on asking for information. There was an earlier post stating that Efrin was paid $750,000. That's not really chump change.

Snake oil sales people, unscrupulous grand scale ministers, and the like are many times very good business people. Let me change that to people with very good business skills.

There are many business people with grandiose plans. Some fail and some succeed. The ones who fail are considered rascals no matter what their intent. I'm not talking about the Bernie Madof's of the world who's intent is to steal.

The opinions of the Kevin Trudeau ordeal range from that he was a thief in a den of thiefs to a good business person with a faulty plan.

We have much to learn--and I hope we do.
