Anyone buy the book yet? Did you get you dollars worth, or is it just Mobo Jumbo?
rackmsuckr said:Western medicine is just discovering what has been around for centuries. China has had 5000 years to refine the use of plants and animal parts, and slowly our doctors are admitting that some ancient medicine is effective. They recently decided acupuncture is a useful technique. If we were not so quick to call them primitive and stupid, we would have benefited from these 'cures' for decades. Do you think Asians are superstitious, gullible or primitive in believing in the potency of roots, herbs, and flowers?
We westerners are arrogant in our thinking that modern medicine is the only solution. Scurvy can be eradicated by eating oranges. The sun produces Vitamin D in our bodies.

"Even in an age of fortified milk and cereal, some doctors worry that we're short on vitamin D--to our detriment.
Historically, most people have gotten their quota from the sun, which stimulates the cells in the skin to produce it. But now that we're either slathered in sunscreen or parked in front of the computer, vitamin D deficiency appears to be fairly common. One study in Boston found that of 307 adolescents tested, 75 were vitamin D deficient. African-American kids were more likely to be low, since the pigment in dark skin acts as a sunblock.
The National Academy of Sciences' Institute of Medicine currently recommends that adults get 200 international units, or IU s, a day of vitamin D, which the body needs to absorb calcium. But some scientists argue for even more, since studies now suggest that extra might help prevent fractures in elderly people (osteoporosis) and that a shortage could even play a role in cancer, type 1 diabetes, and multiple sclerosis."
All diseases and the cures for them are inherent in our environment or body. We need to release some of our arrogance of natural cures. God and Mother Nature put most everything we need at our disposal to be well. Whether we choose to use those tools or not is the question. Being aware is the first step and I believe KT's book raises that awareness.

macguy said:Actually everything you say is true, if we were to follow the natural course as nature intended people would die anywhere 25 to 40 years of age and many of the problems we have in the world with over population the depletion of resources and so would be solved. Good plan.
DaveK said:Good post Linda. I will add that our pharmaceutical industry has not been around very long, maybe 100 years or so. Humanity survived from 'the beginning' until then without pills etc. Saskatchewan has a very significant Cree population and they have had natural cures and treatments for ailments and injuries for thousands of years, stuff that grows around here (hard as it may be to believe). Of course many of our modern medicines have plant material at their roots (that's a bad pun, sorry), so the industry is not ignorant of this knowledge no matter how one may judge them.
There are many books published on alternative medicines (alternative to the chemical factory type medicines that is). I would guess that most are written by 'authorities' on the subject. Having read some of the articles linked here in AZ, I do not get the impression that Kevin Trudeau is trained in any form of medicine, and am wondering how he got the information in his book (he is listed as the sole author, correct ?) ?
I do get the impression that Kevin is a top quality sales person bordering on being evangelistic, something that I can respect as a former commissioned salesman myself. The fact that he sponsors the IPT is not an issue with me, it's good to see someone trying to elevate the professional levels.

rackmsuckr said:Yes, if the natural course is gluttony and not paying attention to our bodies. That's human nature and the good plan many follow. Also, overpopulation is occurring because people are not dying when they should, but kept alive by modern technology in a state that has no quality of life.
I am not saying modern medicine has not achieved progress, I am just saying there is more than 1 way to skin a cat...or fight disease.
macguy said:Not exactly, people are living longer and more active lives then ever before in good health well into their later years due to today's modern technology. People don't die today of a simple infection or food poisoning, we in this country have about the safest food supply that has ever existed. Heck people died not that many years ago from just drinking raw milk. I guess you would like it the way it was before when women had 6 and 8 children and were lucky if 2 made it to adulthood. Yep, you have a great plan.
rackmsuckr said:He puts a disclaimer in the book that emphatically states that he is not a scientist, dr. or researcher, and he also states that he has taken many different sources to back up each claim. He cites and references his sources. I think he has compiled the research from several sources for his cures. For example, he gives 9 sources for proof that the pharmaceutical industry is purposely selling ineffective medicines and suppressing natural cures... 3 of whom are doctors.

DaveK said:Thanks Linda. I think it says a lot that the one example you provide is his 'proof' of a conspiracy theory rather than a natural cure. I was more interested in how he knows about the cures, and apparently he did do some research in order to come up with citations. Thanks again for answering my question.
Go IPT !

You could always do your part to lessen the population, if you think it is so bad.![]()
