Well, here goes.
This a system that I developed back in around 1982. I was looking for another method to eliminate all the numbers that have to be used to figure most systems. This is a system that is separated into 1/8 segments. I guess you could say, 8 pockets, cue ball divided into 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 etc. So it seemed to work out okay.
When I have tried to convey this in writing, I guess I have lost something in the translation. Some have tried it and it worked for them when shown, (locally), others, have difficulty.
For those of them that can't, the only reason I can figure is that they are not figuring the angle correctly. Horray for the WEI table. Now I can show how I figure the system.
Everytime someone tells me that they have had problems, I try it on the table and it works. So now I am going to put it up for those on the forum to critique.
I have shown it to several people on the forum in diagrams and have gotten different opinions. Some say it appears geometrically correct, but, I want to post it to all for their view points. Good and bad.
I found though that the system has its limitations when the ball gets located above the side pocket. For those reasons, we will only diagram this to the side pocket.
I have compared it to the SIDS system and find very close in similar numbers values.
The system uses about 1/2 tip above center on the cue ball. The way I suggest people to start out on this is to shoot the cue ball out of one of the corner pockets-aim at the center diamond on the head rail and kick into the opposite pocket to acquire the speed necessary. Again as any system, tables play different and the need to adjust is present.
There are 3 pages to the WEI table. Shots work the same no matter where the cue ball is located. Any questions about different positions, please ask.
