Kid Delicious Movie in the Works!

i think you need a baby-face. and as jam said,,,it's the eyes.

There's something about Vincent D'Onofrio that grabs me. The first time I saw him in the big screen was when he had a small role in "Adventures in Babysitting," starring Elisabeth Shue. He was GREAT in "Full Metal Jacket," and actually gained 70 pounds for this picture.

Although he's doing TV now on "Law and Order," this would be my favorite pick to play "Kid Delicious" in the movie! :p

I knew you'd like that hat. When I was blowing up the .jpeg file, you were the first person who came into my mind! ;)

i like d'onofrio. good pick. he was outstanding in "men in black". apparantly, there's no shortage of anti-matinee idol types :):):)

What about me...

I could play Danny. Although I don't look like him, don't play like him and can't act either, but I could use the money. :p

if that avatar is you, then you don't look like him...you look like paul newman...he couldn't play...and he could never act either:):):)

He must have looked something like this, as depicted on his AzBilliards Player Profile:

He was much bigger than that when he went on the road. I think that is actually after his big road trip when he got skinny for a short time.

I heard he got to beat some guys twice because of it once as 'that fat kid' and then again like in the the picture. He'd never get me though- i would always remember that voice.

How about Jack Black? He's definitely got that lovable quality about him--just as Danny does, IMO. And Jack's young looking too. I can actually picture him doing one of Danny's winning roars after a match. He may have to dye his hair, though.

Good one...perfect for the part!

He's a cute-looking lad of, my guess, 18 years in that pic. He's 27 or 28 now.

His best feature is his eyes, which actually sparkle when he's giving you his undivided attention, which he does to everyone he speaks with -- his best trait (IMO)!

JAM

I believe that picture is of Danny in 2000, when he was about 22.

Just a guess but I dont think theres too much of a chance that a big
guy gets the leading role.

Very few films actually have the same characters in them from a true story
or from a book.

In Shawshank Redemption, the character Red, played by Morgan Freeman,
is a white Irish man in the book. Actually in the movie "Red" has a line about
himself being Irish.

I figure that IF it gets made that it will be a guy like Heath Ledger. Rugged looks but still a charmer. I like the Ribisi angle. he is a good actor.
What does Bristol Bob look like? age?

Would Edward Norton be right for either of them? or Jake Gyllenhaal?
I always thought Patrick Dempsey would do well with the hustler or road guy lines.

Ethan Suplee, the guy mentioned earlier has lost a bunch of weight.

I just hope its made well and is released no matter who is in it.

well,,,they can use movie magic:):):) or that fat guy on SNL....but if they want to movie to sell, they'll have to use artistic license.

So it'll be Matt Damon, huh?

I think John Goodman would make a good Danny Basavich, he's a hell of an actor and has the proper build too.

Yeah.......
Ummmmmmm...........except he's like 50

I like that actor, but what does he have to do with the Kid Delicious movie? Has he been cast to play a role in this movie?

I hope this movie rings true, much like "Rounders" did with poker. Being that Danny Basavich will be a consultant, I am hoping they get this movie right!

Can't wait to learn more details! This is very exciting! :)

JAM

Rounders was good.
Do ya one better though.
Rent High Roller, the Stu Ungar Story.

Damn...if that's the case, maybe they should do the same thing in reverse and have Eddie Murphy in the lead role. They made him look fat for a movie before, plus he's a street savvy fast talking hustler type.

If there is a part for Rob Saez it should be played by this guy...

If that's Steve Buscemi, he's one of my favorite all-time actors, writers, and directors.

"Trees Lounge," a little underrated flick, he stole the show, actually wrote it, made his debut as a director, and starred in it. A must-see for those who enjoy the study of human nature.

He directed a "The Sopranos" episode entitled "Pine Barrons," which was absolutely hilarious, the BEST Sopranos show to date (IMO).

Better picture of Steve Buscemi: http://www.hbo.com/sopranos/cast/actor/steve_buscemi.shtml

And yes, Rob Saez does kind of look like him, a little in the mouth area! :p

That skinny picture of Danny is how he looked in NJ when he was sponsored by Capone. I think that was before he hit the pavement.

Cast:
Danny - Jack Black / Matt Mchonohey(sp)
Bristol Bob - Jimmy Falon / Tom Wellings
Larry Liscotti - Steve Buscemi (no doubt)
Earl Strickland - Michael McDonald from MadTV / Jeff Foxworthy

Just some ideas...

Joe

anyone got the story on this guy... sorry.. dont really know much about him...
my humble apologies
