KT and his IPT should be commended

You have to admit that the way KT is marketing his new IPT tour it sure is generating a lot of speculation, interest and excitement.

The round robin grouping is nice. And posting the starting lineups a month in advance really adds to all the interest and speculation.

Check out Celtic's thread and you will see how everyone has their favorites. When was the last time you heard people picking favorites and promoting them? Probably never.

And there sure are a lot of dark horses in the race. Which one will move into the top three?

This format sure does lend itself to placing wagers. A whole new enterprise can open up. They could set it up like the Jai Alia (sp) games.

Yeah ....

Kt is pissing a lot of people off because he is doing
something right for Pool. The other organizations don't
know what to do or how to react. To me, it just shows
their ineffectiveness, how dare someone come in and
actually DO something for the sport and the PLAYERS.

How are we ever gonna 'keep them down on the farm' now? ...lol

And Kt hasn't faltered yet, like so many predict, and he is
showing some class with the way he is going about it.
And picking Deno as tour director, IMO, was a brilliant decision.

Talking about dark horses, I cannot wait for the true events with the entire field playing. There are a ton of great, yet lesser known players that are going to be alot of fun watching do battle with all the others at the top end. Matches between young not quite top pro players who need to win to prove themselves vs the top women players who also need to win for the same reason, there is going to be alot of pressure on both sides of that fence. I am not sure of the format for the future events but if they continue to do these long races to 9 and maybe even round robin them all the cream is truely going to rise to the top. They really worked the luck out of this by picking a game that relies alot more on skill and making the races really long for 8-ball such that one or two lucky rolls in the match is not likely to make or break someone. We finally might see another era of pool where the top player can truely rise to the top and dominate the sport like a Greenleaf or Mosconi did so long ago.

And remember

to hide some Turkey and fixins in the frig, so you can have
some of those good Turkey sandwiches while you watch it
on TV ... lol

In Keith's Defense...

25 days to go. Its christmas over again. I wonder if Allison is up to playing the boys. If Jeanette wonders why her back hurts and she's not playing. If Efren is glad he's in the hall of fame and can bypass. If Earl is silently exploring new ways to kill and thrill, waiting patiently. If the Fillipinos are syndicated and think America is an easy buck. Lets gang bang. If Karen thinks its too much for the Irish. Ask Bono. Go Karen. If Rodney thinks he can buy a place in hawaii. If Archer thinks the Mosconni Cup is where its at but he'll give it a try. Hell, it'll buy the wife a tiara. If RackemUpSucker is wondering 'can a girl be lucky'. If Old Dog played more, he'd had a chance. He knows he doesn't. If Shorty wishes they considered him. The disadvantaged. If Colin will fly, China's best though he knows theres many locals who kick would his arse but have no money. And nineball girl and Sweet Marrissa, why not be like Railbiird and watch. Like witches do. They still influence the outcome. And the One. My god, I believe in you, when all others don't.
Mika, yr website sucks. Now yr the captain, can you do something about it.
Yr not afraid of anyone, right but Efren is afraid of Earl. Everyone hates Earl but Earl is what earl does and Archers the captain but Earls the man
And all the players who win, after hours on the money games. noone remembers you and you lose the money again the next night as tired gamblers do.
I had to move houses as my friend gambled the rent. We had a pool table too. Bye bye pool table. Then all the lights went out on the street. An omen.
The day after, I'm sleeping on the floor.
Still theres the money; McCreedy, I hope you get your slice of the pie,(you need the jam but hey your nose gives you away as a drinker and drinkers always think they are better than than they actually are) <that cost u the Us open 2004, right?>... like everyone else does but have you thought of doing something else with your life. If you haven't made it now, its too late.
Corey, you have to be the real deal.
At least let tv see an american win. Bush needs that more than ever.
Yeah, I'm bad. I can play though.

That's cute. However I do want to mention that the US Open may be a tournament where Keith actually did NOT drink and did poorly. Not that I condone drinking but I do know how hard it is for a player that has always played 'mellow' to go out and play on the natural, especially in the beginning.

Yeah, right. He was so scared he drilled Earl in Color of Money I and II and kicked his a.. 12-0 in Fujairah two years ago.

You are, of course, correct, but let's set the record striaght.

The Color of Money I was probably the closest match ever played between two professionals. At one point it was 117 - 117 in the race to 120.

The suggestion that Efren has owned Earl over the years is, quite simply, false. They've gone back and forth over the years, but I'm sure Earl has won more than half of their encounters.

Of course, Efren is not scared, but I'm sure he has enormous respect for Earl's excellence over the glorious green felt.

Indeed. Their last encounter in the US Open was not exactly the Efren show.

Thanx RackemUpSuckr but I sort of deleted that thread cause I was embarassed in the morning at what I wrote drunk at night. Youre so 'with it' to catch it.
I was quoting Efren. He said he feared Earl.
Fear doesnt stop you. You still play, you know.
RackEmupSuckr, at least get a nice hotel room and why can't 'they', Trudeau, gaurentee the girls a slice of the pie no matter the result. Noone watches tv to look at most guys but everyone watches the girls. Afterall, it is a tv game show, youre on. Your skill level merely prempts you to be a contestant.
I can't figure out the dress code thing as it promotes uniformity whereas diversity and developing character and personnae would seem essential for goodviewing, re call the wwf, the wrestling guys with different distinct character. Rodney Morris as a hip hop, or even 9ball girl. Alison as the prim Brit. There has to be character definition for a succesful game show.
Sure players are only concerned with the cash. To them its just another comp. For the unknown viewing public, its a game show.
I'm suprised there hasnt been video/film footage aleady done with players commenting on other players, ambitions, dreams, sparked rivalry. I mean InfoCommericial king should be a master of that. If youve got 150 players, half of then won't get coverage. Are u going to be on a limited edition dvd in the first round. Probably not.
Then theres national rivalry, as well........so who is from the UK, the South Americas. A player from Iraq would really boost the ratings.......
Hey, I apologise for my remarks but my mentor always told a player drinking always thinks he's better than he is. Its a subtle alcohol factor. I've got nothing against loose and natural though but it blends with the night more than the day.
Pool can grip someone, like a fetish or a passion. Bravo to those who burn in that flame.
I have my day job and haunt at night. Though I have three months vacation a year for my fetish to unweave itself too.

.

That's ok, and just so you know, I may be the prim and proper one. Allison however may look like this (from recent pics of her) I think everyone can dress up and still show their characters, just not in a smelly, holey T-shirt. lol
