KT and IPT to go SO for IPO?

Aldous Huxley?

I'll see your Huxley and raise you Kipling:

In the Carboniferous Epoch we were promised abundance for all,
By robbing selected Peter to pay for collective Paul;
But, though we had plenty of money, there was nothing our money could buy,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: "If you don't work you die."

Then the Gods of the Market tumbled, and their smooth-tongued wizards withdrew
And the hearts of the meanest were humbled and began to believe it was true
That All is not Gold that Glitters, and Two and Two make Four
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings limped up to explain it once more.

As it will be in the future, it was at the birth of Man
There are only four things certain since Social Progress began.
That the Dog returns to his Vomit and the Sow returns to her Mire,
And the burnt Fool's bandaged finger goes wabbling back to the Fire;

And that after this is accomplished, and the brave new world begins
When all men are paid for existing and no man must pay for his sins,
As surely as Water will wet us, as surely as Fire will bum,
The Gods of the Copybook Headings with terror and slaughter return.

Rudyard Kipling, "The Gods of the Copybook Headings"

People are just confused.

Actually, during the good days, a few months ago, I mentioned that I hope the IPT goes public so I can buy into the IPO. It was a joke.

Putting aside the financial (or literary) aspects of this for a minute, if the IPT really went public and issued tour players shares, then those players would have share-holder rights to attend share-holder meetings and vote on decisions. Heck, all us keyboard warriors could buy a single share each just to have a chance to heckle KT in public.

Just think; if he really floats the IPT in an IPO on a major US stock exchange that he'll have to make all his accounts meet Sarbanes Oxley. :-)

At no time has KT ever mentioned in any shape or form the slightest hint of any contingency to float IPT in the USA.

His only significant and specific reference to flotation was in a speech after the first official mention by him of "Ho Interactive".The actual wording he used was ambiguous (what a surprise eh? ) in respect of whether he was talking about flotation of Ho Interacive or of IPT but an ounce of commercial acumen would tell us it could not possibly be IPT which was to be floated. However there was no ambiguity whatsoever regarding the Exchange he was talking about and that was definitively....London.

Why do people keep bringing up USA or Far East market flotation? Haven't we got enough garbage that he's actually said to speculate upon without inventing things he has never said or even hinted?:)

All of the links to Far Eastern news articles mentioning the Ho IPO, report that it involves some of his casinos and a theme park that he also owns going public on the Hong Kong exchange. I recopied the article below.

Macau's Ho tells of Hong Kong share plans Last Updated(Beijing Time):2006-09-26 15:55

Billionaire Stanley Ho said he may sell shares in his Macau theme park to the public in Hong Kong, where he also intends to complete an initial public offering of casino operator Sociedade de Jogos de Macau SA by the year-end.

"The business of the Fisherman's Wharf is quite good since its opening," Ho said after Sociedade de Turismo e Diversoes de Macau's annual general meeting in Macau yesterday. "But the plan is only in preliminary stage." No financial details were given.

Ho and partner David Chow Kam-fai on December 31 opened Fisherman's Wharf, built at a cost of HK$1.9 billion (US$244 million). Ho, whose 16 casinos in Macau have made him China's fourth-richest man, has lost market share since Las Vegas Sands opened the city's first Western-style casino in 2004.

Ho has planned to raise as much as HK$15 billion in an initial public offering of Sociedade de Jogos, called SJM. Winnie Ho, the estranged sister who once helped him run the casinos as an SJM director, seeks to block the share sale in the courts.

"The Court of Final Appeal in Macau already heard the appeal from Winnie Ho about the shareholders' registry and we expect a ruling by the end of October," Stanley Ho said. "If we win, we will re-apply to the Hong Kong stock exchange for the IPO. I hope the plan can proceed as scheduled" by year's end.

Stanley Ho said in March that SJM's shareholders had approved the planned Hong Kong share sale. The plan has been delayed since May, when Winnie Ho began filing a series of lawsuits to courts in Macau and Hong Kong to stop the share sale.

Sociedade de Turismo will sell 25 percent of the enlarged share capital of SJM to the public, said Ambrose So, an executive director of Shun Tak Holdings Ltd, which owns a stake in Sociedade de Turismo.

There is no mention or reference to the IPT or KT whatsoever. I doubt whether anyone above the advertising buyer in the Ho organization has even heard of the IPT.

Ahh, I see. I guess most people, myself included, just assumed that as the IPT is (or possibly was/soon won't be) a wholey USA owned entity that it would therefore be floated in the USA. I don't know nearly enough about the international business world to know how or why a USA owned company would float on the LSE, especially in the light of the cancellation of the only UK event to date. However if I had to guess I'd say the UK was chosen because of the very active online gambling industry there.

As usual as KT insists on releasing information in tiny, unverifiable, non-specific nuggets we are all left with little else but idle speculation to fill in the gaps. And of course that's just how we like it, nothing ruins a great IPT thread like actual facts.

If the IPT was to be a fraction of a fraction of the reason Ho Interactive was to be formed, and simply another arrow in Ho's vast quiver, how the hell could Kevie-wevie make such a huge promise to "gift" the players something "very special" when "IPO is finalized"? KT makes himself sound like a major player in Ho Interactive -- one capable of showering stock options on his subjects like the benevolent monarch he fancies himself to be. Do you smell that?

Have any of you guys ever seen the movie "Boiler Room"? I can see KT as the guy in the movie creating fake companies and floating IPO's for them. Maybe that's why the IPT office has a "for rent" sign at it.

Anything that KY (oops, KT) says has absolutely no realationship to the truth, fact or logic, and has to be discounted down to almost zero.

That's about the only thing constant about KT and this whole surreal fantasy.

He is psychotically delusional. imo
