I posted in the 14.1 forum to see if there were any ladies that played the game....so i figured i would expand my search to here. Curious what games you all play and just thought it would be nice to hear from some of you.

I started off like most people just banging balls around with friends but decided i really wanted to learn the game. 9 ball was my game for a long time but i recently took up 14.1 and i love it!

what about you??

I play 8-ball, 9-ball, rotation, and every now and then straight pool. But my favorite game by far is banks. I LOVE BANKS. If I had to pick a second favorite, it would be rotation. I prefer how the fouls are handled in rotation compared to 9-ball.

I like straight pool as well, but I really don't have anyone even within the realm of my speed to play with a lot of times. So every now and then I prepare myself for a chair sitting night and watch and learn. My one friend that is very good at the game, sometimes feels bad playing with me as I get so little time on the table. So we come up with creative spots, like he only gets two predetermined pockets or I get three misses before my turn is over, etc...

My pool buddies are all bit by the one pocket bug at the moment. But I don't want to start playing it quite yet.

It's nice to hear that the Lady's are playing straight pool. Akatrigger on this forum plays 14.1 and I think she plays in a 14.1 league in Texas.

sounds fun! i like trying new games, keeps my brain sharp lol. I mainly play 14.1 with my husband when i am not playing in my league. I play regular he playes 10 no count. Makes it more of a challenge for him since he has to make 10 balls or more for his score to count lol. I have never played banks but im pretty good at bank shots so maybe i should give it a try :)! thanks for responding! i hope to hear more from you!

Trigger and I both play in a straight pool league.....and I hear she's pretty good at one-pocket.....

I play 8-Ball in a League. Play some 9-Ball. Basically I will give any game a try. I'll have to look up the rules of 14.1...Sounds like I might like it.

I think i am gonna give rotation a try! never heard of it until now...my husband told me what it was. Think ill try it tomorrow! Thanks

I have won some titles playing 8ball and I used to love it a lot more than I do now. I think that's because it's so strategic and I have lost some of my focus/thinking skills because I don't play enough. 9ball is my favorite game now - I like the pace better.

I have played 14.1 with my husband (it's his favorite) but I lost patience. I should try it again one of these days.

What's your high run? you should pick up grady mathew's "key balls and break shots" video. my high run improved 30 balls after watching it and applying what i learned

I love 14.1... maybe when the new baby is old enough I can play again!

Welcome to the forums!

you guys want to hear something funny? i was at the local pool hall about a year ago and this young couple brought their baby in. the kid's still in that baby carrying thing (portable cradle thing?) anyway they couldn't figure out where to put the baby while they play so my friend John tells them to put the baby under the table. it seemed logical to me because that's where i put my baby (my cue...). they did it too

it's cool marissa just put the baby under the table with your break cue. and tell the little one he gets milk from the bottle if someone walks off with your break cue

unless you're playing someone who knows how to play i wouldn't waste your time. wait until some filipinos come to town and play it with some of them. you'll learn more

I mostly play 9-ball, but I'll play 8-ball occassionally too. I have tried straight pool before, but I don't have anyone to play that with now. I should just take up playing it on my own. I'd like to try one pocket too, but I have never played that one, only watched.

My high run is 14 ...i just broke 8 about 2 weeks ago. I started playing straight pool a few months ago because my hubby and his friend wanted me to play in the league they started. I only played 9ball and 8 ball up until then. I havent broke my 14 since! I got a few 13s and 12s. Not too bad considering i am just really learning how to run balls lol.

Did they live in a nice trailer park or was it one of those rougher trailer parks?

I've seen this before and it's disgusting. Leaving a baby under the table? Do people realize how loud the balls would sound under that table to a baby? Or anywhere near a pool table for that matter? Oh well, I've been known to look at things different anyway...
