Just back from total refinish by Cory Barnhart...this Mike Lambros cue is in exceptional shape. It has the Ultra-joint, a genuine Sharkskin wrap installed by Cory), one Predator shaft and one standard shaft. I played with this cue for a while and it really plays well. Firm, but not stiff hit..very responsive and easy cue movement.

Specs:
-Butt weight: 15.5oz
-Predator shaft: 3.5oz, 12mm
-Standard shaft: 3.9oz, 13mm, Ivor-X ferrule
-Joint: 3/8x10 Ultra-joint with natural linen sleeve
-Ringwork: At all 5 positions, A/B/C/D/E, black/brass/nat linen/brass/black
-Forearm: Rosewood forearm with 4 sharp Cocobolo points with 3 veneers, black/blue/black
-Wrap: Genuine Shark-skin wrap, black
-Butt sleeve: Solid Cocobolo
-Buttcap: Natural linen with "Lambros" logo

Cuemakers are able to buy predator shaft blanks and then fit them to their joints and add rings. I'm sure that's what happened here. Is that right Joe?

This is an excellent question, in my conversations with Mike he is quite adamant about not putting after market shafts on his cues. I asked him to do one!!

i wouldn't think too mnay people could make those convex joint collars.i bet mike did it.
 
it was made from a pred shaft blank by Wayne Ball in Tampa, and it hits great, i know, i'm the one Joe bought it from! he does great work, it's a perfect fit...........jeremy

Thanks for the input, Jeremy. This cue plays super with the Predator shaft, and of course the standard shaft plays great, too. I just like the low deflection of the Predator.

Mike doesnt like predator shafts because he makes his own laminated shaft...I need that guy Wayne Balls info..I have at iger 3o blank that I would like to use..Ha ha..

I am not real sure of the grade of sharkskin (I don't even know what grades there are), but I assure you it is a good grade. Cory Barnhart did the wrap and refinish, and he uses only high quality materials. When he was ready to put the leather wrap on, he gave me a call and said the cue came out great and that he had a real nice piece of sharkskin that would look great on the cue. This is the first sharkskin wrap I have ever had. He gets his exotic wraps from a supplier in Japan, or at least he used to. This stuff is tough...it will outlast the rest of the cue.

Just a shameless plug for Joe and Mike Lambros. I did a deal with Joe for the last Lambros he posted here and I haven't put it down yet. That cue is a wand from God. I honestly don't remember when a cue has impressed me with it's playabililty like this one has. It is the only cue I play with, and I'm having Mike build me a loaded up custom. I just can't say enough about the hit and feel of my Lambros, it's really something you just have to try.

I don't think that Mike dislikes predator shafts in particular, he doesn't seem to like any of the after market shafts.
Are there any issues associated with the patent he has on the joint, as far as other's copying it to fit the after market shafts? Just curious not trying to stir up the pot!!!
