Laminated shafts
www.dominiakcues.com This is a nice website for information on his cues. They only make shafts for their own cues (unlike Predator), but are probably the most reasonably priced laminated cues on the market.

The OB-1 cue shafts are made in the USA!
We are located in Plano Texas, a suburb of Dallas on the north side. We do get our hard maple from Canada, but all the construction is done here in the USA.
We build all the blanks and do all the ferrule and finish out here in Plano. We also do the taper, joint, and spray finish on half our production here. The other half we send to Samsara Cues in North Dakota. Samsara does the taper, joint, and spray finish on the other half and then sends them back to us for the ferrule and finish out. I must say that it is a pleasure to do business with such an outstanding company like Samsara. Excellent people and Excellent products.

The OB-1 cue shafts are made in the USA!

I believe the Tiger X shaft is made in Cali.
I just got off the phone with Bryan Roberts of Rack 66 in Louisville, he sells the Universal SS, and was told that the only USA made laminated shaft is the OB-1. The Predator and the Universal are both made in the same city in China. But IMO, that's not a negative reflection on the quality like it used to be. Just easier to accidently buy a knock-off.

I have an AnnieO flat laminated shaft, which is made in Houston, Texas, USA. I can not tell you where the material for these come from (since I do not know), but they are fabricated in the U.S..
I really like this shaft.
I have three (3) of her new ProPlus shafts on order with a new cue, which should be superior. I have shot with both types of shafts in her cue shop.

Support Your Domestic Cuemakers
Quality is not the real issue - the problem with buying goods made in China is the fact that money sent to China never comes back. Better to spend it stateside, that way the maker and their employees will have some extra pocket change to spend on a good or service supplied by another citizen. For example... people seem to be lining up to buy cheap full-splice butts from China in spite of the quality "issues". Wouldn't it be better if we were paying a domestic manufacturer such as Brunswick, who then, in turn might be in more of a position to support the sport? Or, how about supporting the custom cuemakers who offer full-splice cues? I realize that a large part of the blame rests with short-sighted, corporations who think they are cutting a fat hog by sending their manufacturing offshore, but as consumers, we vote with our dollars too.
It's a downward spiral, and this constant drain on our economy is going to be the end of "US".
An extended discussion of this really belongs in "NonPool-related", and I apologize for the politicization of the thread, but this is a very serious problem that more people need to be aware of. Our economy is tanking, the dollar is on crutches, and most people don't realize it because their so-called "standard of living" is being temporarily propped up by the availability of cheap goods from overseas.
I proudly spent at least $25.00 a while back for a US made Starrett hacksaw. It's a little more saw than I really needed, but hell-for-stout, and it was the only domestic saw in the store.
