I hadn't bothered to check out the page before, but of course when you tell people not to look at something, you're almost guaranteeing that they will.:)

You're absolutely right, though. This guy is a sleaze! And to use a child's name in it as well? I'm the last person to have something against nudity, but who would be low-down enough to use a child's name on such a site? Evidently TW/AO would! Spread the word--I know there's no way he'll ever get a dime from me or from anyone who takes my advice.

That could be grounds for legal action to associate Landon's good name with pornographic materials. The young pool champion is, in fact, a public figure today. I seem to recall a case very similar. The sports celebrity, a public figure, sought legal action and won.

Regardless, as a father I would not want my son's picture plastered all over an internet site in which I didn't approve of each and every image of him. That's just my concern as a parent. There are some sick people on the internet.
 
AOyster, after reading the overwhelming majority of opinions on this thread, my advice to you is to try to contact Stan Shuffett and see if you can give him the website for free immediately to avoid any further repercussions. And if he doesn't want it, offer him some dough to take it off your hands.

Good post, JAM, and good advice I think. Someone should capture that page for use as evidence should the Shuffetts decide they need to take action to address what could be considered defamation.

AOyster, you seem to have a break with reality going on here if you think you're treating the Shuffetts fairly and in good faith.

You don't make the rules sir. You can only live the consequences of your words and your motives. If you are trying to profit from something that is not you or yours, support and respect and credibility is all you can lose anyway. Our pool world is very small and it doesn't take long for the word to get out!! The Shuffett family does not need approval from you to make them creditable. You may have shown them a thing or two but taking credit for Landons success is crossing the line. Using him as a promotional tool to fill up your school is crossing the line. Stan is the best instructor that I know and he has Landon working just fine. Last week he had a good finish in Athens to show for it.

Cruising around the web I learned a few things about Australian oysters:

The Pacific oyster was introduced into Tasmania, Victoria, South Australia, and Western Australia in five shipments from 1947 to 1970 (Medcof and Wolf, 1975). None of the oysters transplanted to South Australia and Western Australia survived; however, some of the oysters in Tasmania survived

The Tasmanian oyster hatcheries produce almost exclusively "black" Pacific oysters, which have a black mantle and shell.

They are rather slow growing, presumably because they have been derived from only a few oysters and are most likely inbred.
