Las Vegas Open 10-ball

question:
Has anyone else noticed the struggles on these tables, even from the elites? Watching matches seem funny to me, like the rails are fast but the bed slows quickly. Also seems to slide more than usual with new felt... could be just me and that there aren't that many tournaments using the Predator table and cloth.
apologies if this was discussed last year and I missed it.

they do seem to play funky. i think the slug racks are more notable though. it kinda defuses the big breakers edge

The predator reserve cloth is very "slidey" when new, and it really shows on medium to firm speed shots. I can't say that I'm a fan from the few times I've played on it. I prefer Simonis, Andy, or Championship.

I haven't watched many of the matches, but the few I did were filled with substandard play.

substandard format is going to result in substandard play......cant take this tourney very seriously..

the predator world 8-ball had struggling pros as well, with a normal format. i think these tables and the racking is causing this as much as the format. we will see in the world 10b next week.

I practiced on one of the 7 foot tables yesterday, and this is the case. The rails rebounded quickly, but the cloth was slow but didn't seem too worn.

Fk all these whining pros. Either don't play the event or play and STFU. They know going in what the format is. I know someone who played an event in Ariz. on these tables and said they played fine. Its pro pool for pretty good money. These guys aren't in any position to start bitching/making demands. When they start making Jon Rahm(PGA star) money, then maybe. BTW, JR is averaging $470,000 PER ROUND so far this season.

If JR is making 470,000 a round he probably shouldn't be making any demands either. Jus sayn.

All the top American players are soft and being cry babies and it shows in their games at the event. SVB clearly has no interest. He is visibly frustrated with the breaking and doesn't like how the two balls behind the one do not go into the side pocket breaking from the middle, because of the slick equipment. Meanwhile, all the rest of the players adapt and deal with it. It's an event with a big purse and they don't care to support it. Only reason they are playing is because it is at the same event and same equipment as the World 10 ball coming up after this event.

I will say the Predator 7' tables most likely aren't built for the long haul with plywood rails.

he got slugged though, so i can see where some of his grimaces came from. but he also showed give up attitude. and all of them get the same type of racking, on the same table etc, as you write.
