No idea. If I was in the market for a 7' table, this would be a hard pass for me especially at the price point. If the 7' are built that way , I wonder if the 9' are too?

Not the rails.Diamond uses plywood in their construction!
I agree that plywood can be superior in certain ways, especially stability with temperature/humidity changes.Plywood used in certain aspects of construction can be superior to that of lumber. Diamond uses plywood in their construction!
Ding-ding-ding! We have a winner! All the top American players are soft and being cry babies and it shows in their games at the event. SVB clearly has no interest. He is visibly frustrated with the breaking and doesn't like how the two balls behind the one do not go into the side pocket breaking from the middle, because of the slick equipment. Meanwhile, all the rest of the players adapt and deal with it. It's an event with a big purse and they don't care to support it. Only reason they are playing is because it is at the same event and same equipment as the World 10 ball coming up after this event.
What are they calling 'plywood'? Diamond rails are technically 'plywood' but are stronger than any GC rail ever made. I thought SAM tables had metal rails with cushion bonded to it. That's how the original KimSteel tables were built. I just assumed that when SAM took over production they used metal rails too.I will say the Predator 7' tables most likely aren't built for the long haul with plywood rails.
They are multi-piece butcher block style. Much stiffer/stronger than solid wood. Diamond factory technician told me that's one reason they bank differently, the rail is much stiffer than those on a GC.Not the rails.
one more: The rails are box-like aluminum piece with the cushion glued to a metal sub-rail. Its possible the new Predator version has wooden rails. I don't know.
SAM is Preds builder.he was talking about the 7' tables. does SAM even make barboxes? not as big a market in europe
They don't have the Mullet officiating do they?six of the best playing against each other in L32:
gorst vs big ko
svb vs kaci
chang vs albin
unfortunately they're starting the same time, 11:00. gorst and svb matches on tv tables
Did you see Tyler ADJUST his break after the first set?just watched tyler vs alex, L64 format is a little better than the 2 set format. also the interviews/content between matches adds a little. they are improving their product. tyler won btw
Good grief that lineup is a murderers row of pool.
If I were able, I'd like to watch every match-up there.
I sure wish old glory was in front of Fedor's name.
It's weird that politics is worming its way into pool the way it is.
Thanks for posting the matches.
I think good quality plywood is less app to warp and is probably stiffer than a hardwood. Particle board or plywood with a bunch of voids are different storiesI will say the Predator 7' tables most likely aren't built for the long haul with plywood rails.
