The organizers of the Qatar International 9-Ball Tournament have informed us that there are still a few slots open that can be filled by North American players. that place is hot as hell. when i was there it felt like the sun was burning the skin off of my body. sunglasses are a must if anyone does take this trip. qatar to me lookslike a mix of the slums of tijuana and the upscale parts of san francisco but always hot.

It's $40k for first with 96 players in the main tournament. 8 spots are reserved in the main tournament for US players and the entry is free. Anyone may enter a qualifier for $50. Looking at the prize breakdown and airfares, you have to finish 9-16 to make a little money -- the nut (airfare from the US and lodging) is around $2300 and 16th pays $2500.
