..Wait. No it isn't. But it probably should be.

Ok, end of thread derailment. I MISS HOCKEY GAMES!

and none of them judge me and I don't judge them.

But when you come onto an open forum and proclaim your devotion to faith and complain about someone displaying poor taste, meanwhile you surround yourself with people who make a living telling people lurid stories about their lack of care and concern for their fellow man... kinda makes you seem almost hypocritical. No?

It won't be admitted, but I think that is the goal...;)

Oh believe me. I know. I've seen the contradiction in a NUMBER of Marissa's posts. For example, she gets bent out of shape over a woman dressed in a scantily clad manner in someone's avatar yet, I remember seeing a pic of her somewhere wearing nothing but a pair of jeans. I think she was laying down on her stomach so her ass-crack was more than visible.

Could be wrong though.

(But I doubt I am!:D )

This is an awful lot of character judgment for a pool forum. I've never met Marissa, but are you really in any place to judge her decisions? Live and let live. :)

Seriously, I was thinking the same thing. All Marissa did was complain about some guys who were giving her a hard time (totally pool related and a valid use for the forum), and her religious beliefs have to be questioned? What is the correlation? Cause she called someone a douche? What's the big deal?

I've seen douche bags come in all faiths and races... and I've seen ppl of all faiths and races be urked by douche bags. Faith is a non issue here, a douche bag is a douche bag, no matter who they're douch bagging.

Now if only Marissa had said "These guys were a real bunch of Jeffs" this whole controversy could've been avoided. Now we know. :p

She was expressing how she was offended by someone else's avatar (very small woman in a bikini with one hand near her left breast) because she was a born again Christian lady in another thread at virtually the same time that she was referring to people she doesn't really even know as feminine hygiene products. That is the correlation that brought her religious beliefs into question.

Just to clarify, I'm not here to judge anyone for anything. I'm just trying to help everyone see each other's point of view.

So Christians don't call people names? Sorry, I've never heard of that rule before.

Geez, she wasn't even cursing. I think you guys are just trying to bait her into defending herself for no reason.

I have atheist friends, Jewish friends, Hindu friends, agnostic friends, Christian friends who don't live a Christian lifestyle, Christian friends who just go to church but that's the extent of their religious life, Christian friends who go to church and do missions... .

Not the JEWS!!!

Well, Lodini, I'm not a Christian but I have read the Bible and studied religion quite a bit as well as human nature. I've always found it funny personally when someone claims to have been hurt or offended by something that really has nothing to do with whether they belong to any specific group. It's just something, in reality, that they have made a personal choice about.
As far as rules go, I don't think I've seen any religious rules that haven't been broken numerous times by people of faith, so even if it was a rule, I wouldn't be surprised to see Marissa breaking the rule after professing her faith. I'm not baiting anyone here. Any baiting that may have been going on is outside my jurisdiction and I refuse to get involved.

It goes WAY deeper than just what you are seeing in the right here right now...

I am going to bow out of this because actually it pretty much is just a big wast of time, and actually "feeds" right in to "some peoples" intentions to create "controversial" threads on one hand while on the other hand trying to paint a "picture of purity"....for the sole purpose of "getting attention"

Trust me...Marrissa already knew she could turn off her Avitar...(She is actually quite skilled at updating hers on a continual basis)...Yet she felt "compelled" to post her objection like she had no clue she could turn off the avitar features.

I did not even touch on the fact that she replied to my post in this thread "out of context" I said nothing in this thread about her religious beliefs..(I could care less) What I said is that "some posters" send mixed messages. The only reason I "asked" if she was a born again christian in the "other" thread was because she brought it up in the first place.......I was merely pointing out that she has (in the past) had very "objectional" type messages being portrayed in her Avitars... She of course has changed them now, but When you put "A seal Walks into a Club" on top of a picture of a "cute" seal, it could be considered just as objectional as a woman that had a pain in her rib just as a picture of her was being snapped.

The seal avitar was just a real small insignificant example of very createive "mixed messages"

You will also see that she has no problem bashing people that don't even post on this board....yet as soon as she finds the opportunity she will pull the holyer than thou card....

Ok...I am done...I have given her enough "attention" I am actually kicking myself for even giving her the attention in the first place...:)

OK, obviously there is way more history to this than I know. If Marissa knows what you are referring to, then I will bow out and let her handle it.

Yes way more.

Douche might not be a typical 'curse' word but I certainly wouldn't teach, say a 3 year old, to go around the saying it to every person he meets. I would think calling someone a douche is just as offensive as posting a pic of some girl you don't know in a provactive position - even if the girl posed for the pic in the first place. Maybe it was part of her religious belief to be in that provactive position & no one should damn her for it, but respect her for keeping her faith.
