Well, I don't know anything specific about that lathe, but I'm suspicious of the "30 inches between centers". If that 30 inches is between chuck centers (with no spur drive or live center installed) then it's going to be short.

Most of the time it does not even include the chuck. I believe it's from the face of the spindle. You would be happier with 40".

this is a bench top lathe 1150.00 plus 150.00 for shipping , it takes 1 maby 2 guys to move it. a 40'' lathe is 2800.00 - 5000.00 and shipping is 350.00-500.00 you need a fork truck to move it, I don't think that is what he is looking for. I know lathes you don't................

if all hes going to use it for is ring billets then it will work fine but for shaft or but work he would be happier with 40" i believe thats all he was saying

I was being vary nice to the guy helping him ,you shut me down with out even knowing what your talking about.
