LD shafts

I was at a big tournament and this guy with a booth had something he called an LD shaft. I asked him what the D stood for and he said deflection. I went ahead and bought it but I can't get to deflect worth a darn. In fact it deflects even less than my normal shafts. Deflection my ass.

I can't remember the guy's name or I'd warn people about him but watch out for these LD shafts.

there are a lot of threads on here to research for "low deflection" shafts

Maybe his L stood for LOTS or LONG.

Trying to be funny or are you actually serious? LD stands for "low deflection" as in less cue-ball squirt/deflection. Do a search and you'll find more info. than you can read in your lifetime.

Check out the low deflection (LD) shaft resource page. It might help answers some of your questions and give you a better understanding of what an LD shaft is.

LD = Low Deflection

I personally use a 'Pro X' shaft on my Tiger cue which, provides the least amount of deflection. It took a couple of weeks to make a transition from a stock maple shaft, but now that I'm used to it there's no turning back.

Sounds like you got suckered! My LD shaft works great. If I try to put any English on the cueball at all I miss hitting the object ball entirely! Now that's some serious deflection!

I'm about to order another cue & I was leaning towards a meucci anw-3 w/the pro-shaft. I've found out though that there's not a loton of love for meucci here. I'm either getting through meucci or abother McDermott w/the I 2 shaft. Anyone played with either shaft?

I'm one of the few that does not particularly care for the I 2 shaft. I very much like the feel of the Meucci Pro Shaft. I have lots of Meucci's. I just sent for another one today. I ordered the 21st Century 2 with the Pro shaft 12.5 mm.

I've been playing lately with some of my old sticks (Old Gambler and Winter Series 2) and just took a liking to the 21st Century 2. Hope it plays as well as my other Meucci's.

Give me that old time deflection

It's good enough for me

It was good enough for Willie
It was good enough for Irving

Tiger is very confused about deflection. I've talked to them and honestly they have a fundamental misunderstanding of the subject. Their claim of "*no* deflection" is ludicrous. To bad because they make decent stuff. I just wish they would learn a bit more, and stop making claims they can't support.

The Meucci pro shaft is actually quite good. Nothing like their traditional offerings. Very nice taper and very lively. Fairly low deflection. Nice hit. I'd be happy to play with one.

The Meucci Pro shaft plays good. It has a really long taper, but it isn't "whippy" like the old-school Meucci shafts. I think it has more feel than some of the other LD shafts.

I've read good things on it. I called Seyberts & ozone both today & was pointed to McDermott. Was actually told seyberts had plans to stop carrying the Meucci altogether.

I was planning on ordering from budget but I can't get a email answered or a phone call in. I like the anw-3 since it already comes with the pro shaft. I really don't want to wait a couple weeks

since so many cant tell a joke from real. it seems it makes it easy to sell those low detection shafts to the gullible.

low detection as in it makes it hard to detect what you are hitting with a light weight in the front shaft.
but of course it you cant play well change the equipment . it works wonders for the high handicap golfers who buy new clubs every year.

You would be remiss to not look into Mezz. They have a solid reputation and multiple threads can be found on this company with a search. High quality production cue company and you can get one for under $400. Check out their exotic wood series. I have the padouk wood. Thing plays like a charm.
