Congratulations! Great story thanks for the sharing, I wish I was around for events like this

Awesome !! Now the heart is of a champion and your team knows it. Wear it with pride and more championships will come your way. Your team will be kick butt next year as well as the pressure is finally off. Great Job Champs.

Well played, sir!

Although we're very disappointed to know that's not you in your avatar...

Thx everyone! Of course it's not me in the Avatar.

Good for you and your team.
Love the picture. We had a similar looking team once. We go into Dennys and "Flo"asks if we are a basketball team!:DStill makes me smile.

No drama there, eh.....
hope you brought your heart medicine.
Don't you love it when you feel the other team commit mental suicide, it just feels right

These are the sorts of stories and situations that should be used to promote the game of pool to the masses. Nice win and congrats!!!

I liked and appreciated your story.

My End Zone team has lost in the finals to the Hi-Tide team of ringers 4 years in a row.

It's a race to 11 and we keep getting down a game but then MVP Shawn Mcintosh would table run or break n run and I would follow up with the same. Two times last night two of their guys in a row didn't shoot.

We get on the hill and everyone is counting on me. I tell my team I'm going for an eight ball break. I normally break at the head ball but they had loose racked me earlier.

Making the eight on the break is a win but if you also scratch you lose.

I deliver the break hard and accurate at the second ball on the right. The eight gets kicked right toward the left side pocket and splits it! Huge cheers then someone yells, "The scratch!"

In horror, I find myself running toward the far corner to get a better view of whether it's going to trickle in or not as my team has gone quiet. It stops just short and my team erupts again and I finish my run down the side of the table with a jumping fist pump.

I was swarmed with hugs and high fives as some of the guys had waited 9 years to win the title. It's been 5 years since I felt like the kicker who kicked the game-winner in the Championship and I'm loving life.

Thx to the owners and staff of the End Zone for the shirts and victory shots etc and to all the guys on the team for a great memory.

I liked and appreciated your story, but don't see a need for the 4 ringers, and the loose rack.

If you ever break a loose rack, then it's the breakers fault for not asking for a rerack, or a ref to come and look.

Congrats on the win, I guess with all Gene's posts about woe is me, negativity get's old.

For the record, I don't think the loose rack was intentional. The other team is 100% pure class and I hope that calling them ringers is taken by most as a compliment and not negative at all.

We played in State with a really good Valley team.
Guess what our local VNEA rep decided was a good idea? Open the State Championships to teams from anywhere. Well, they didn't advertise it far enough in advance to draw the super teams from WI, but they did draw one super team from Louisville.

At the time we were in a lower tier as it's our first time playing leagues and State. The other team had already won their state tournament and had all masters players. But by the operators logic, they weren't masters in Indiana LOL.

They played exceptional, some of the best BB 8 ball I've seen. They got 1st.
