Learn to bank?

You Need Both

I agree John's DVD is great and everyone should get it.
The problem with John's DVD is that he does not show you where the natural angle is.
He say's I know you know it.
He then shows you how he shoots the bank.

The problem is a beginner does not know where the natural angle is.
The use of mirrors gives you the natural angle.
I agree it is a little pricey, but now you know the natural angle.

That is a old idea, but very good and effective. I had seen those a long time ago in different Billiard mag. but haven't seen them advertised for awhile. Its a good system.---Smitty

Heck, for that price, you can get personal lessons from someone on banking, and buy a few DVD's on banking.... Freddy the Beard's books or DVD's are darn good if you really wanna get good at it :)

can't go wrong with JB's videos or the zero x banking video. I own both

I've seen them in action. Don't waste your money. Even if they were free, there are two big problems: The mirrors are in the wrong place -- the mirror reflection of the ball is from the position of the rail groove. Second, if you shoot hard such as testing for bank shortening, you hit the mirror.

I think a much better mirror helper is the thing developed by Bart Mahoney. It is a mirror on legs that you can actually put at the rail groove. You can also put it over the cue ball when you are lining up for a shot so you can see whether you alignment is straight.

Bob, I searched Google and could not find any info re Mahoney's mirror system. Can you give a reference? Thanks
