The guy I play one pocket even plays pretty good and it's a battle to beat him.
He plays a safe that I have no none foul escape from other then to graze a ball and put him up table and let him have a tough cut on the 6 near his pocket about 8 inches off the foot rail with a full rack of balls slightly scattered.
He makes the cut and the cue ball comes off the rail into the middle of the balls opening them more and he runs 8 and out.
So next time if I decide not to push and take a foul I will put him up table so he is straight on the object ball and has to find a bank if he makes it.
I really didn't think he would go for it.
Now keep in mind that at this time we played for 3 hours and were dead even for $5 a game.
So we decided that the last game would be for the $5 and the unofficial one pocket championship of Felt billiards.

Our "Championship" always included a shirt.🤷
I have never seen that skirt but have awarded it more than once.😉

I can't tell from your story , we're you guys even 0 balls 0 games after 3 hours? 😉

Sounds like you are having fun playing a great game!

Here is something far better than money... If you are an Ohio State fan and you're playing against a Michigan fan....

The loser has to wear the hated enemy's
t-shirt AND hat for the whole next day.

Yes, the angle you leave is an important 1pocket lesson but there is another important lesson buried within your story: for $5 a game guys will swing at, and make, shots they wouldn't look at twice with a higher bet : -)

Played a really accomplished one hole player the other day.
Pretty frustrating when you are back on your heels for a couple of hours.
When you get that shot, better not miss and have a good leave to boot.

And stand on one foot and bark like a dog.

One hole as a source of income was Ronnie uh wait.... I will remember. Oh yes Allen. One handed one pocket was his game.

One handed spot shot with no rail got him all the money at Whitey's in Tacoma. One attempt!

Me don’t gamble, and have zero idea what Fargo is.

Have been to real Fargo ND in 97, delivering Budwheisher.🤭
Well it's not a gamble.😉 But I did win $60 off the Budweiser driver, on the Saturday morning that my wife left me sleeping in the back of the little Chevy, uh Vega. Right in front of the door. So When I woke and stumbled in..... everybody knew me. The delivery man played me for$20 to give me $60 and pay for the night before!🤷
