What kind of leather cue case do you prefer?
What kind kind of price range would you look in?

Feel free to elaborate on cases in the thread. Whatever your thoughts on construction, materials, prices, whatever.....feel free to say so.

If there is some type of quality or feature you look for in a case but cannot find or have a hard time finding please elaborate.

If none of the types of cases in the poll turn your crank, what is it you like?

If you don't like leather....well.....this poll ain't for you.

Thanks Folks!

ON-Q made by garth bair

3 x 6, TOOLED TAN LEATHER WITH A COUPLE DARK BLUE DIAMONDS ON THE POCKETS. I'M LOVIN IT.

SLIM

If the Instroke Cowboy leather 3x7 I sold two years ago would've held my 31" butt, I'd still have it and it probably would've been the last case I ever bought (yeah, right :o).

Maniac (loves the soft interiors of John Barton's cases)

I have an ostrich skinned soft sided 4x6 that John Barton made for me. It is fantastic. He really spent time figuring out how to protect the cues when I take them out of the case.

I had a Murnak and thought it was the best ever and it is awesome, but JB made a case that was perfect for me.

Justis, my first and will never sell.

I actually just picked up one of the JB Prototype cases, so I guess my non-leather opinion doesn't matter. It's just the cheap guy in me. Give me the good stuff to protect my cues on the inside and I am not concerned about the cosmetics on the outside.

well, pathetic as it is, I had to google most of those styles to see what they were ... I had a 2 x 4 Porper tube style since the 80s, just switched to a JB Case I bought off a member here and well

Well of course your opinion matters.

I like his prototypes, great buying opportunities.

My comment about leather was a little tongue in cheek.

Although I voted for tube style 2 (Whitten), I love the box style cues as well. Old school.

Well.....I wouldn't want anybody to go nuts clicking options....but you do realize you can vote for more than one?

I really dig box style myself, and for specific and practical reasons. I also like Tube style....Fellini especially.

Love my Centennial and It's George but also looking to get a Whitten,I have a Instroke also and love the protection but hate looking like I'm carrying a rodeo saddle.

I presume this means to carry and use. My preference in a "user case" is different than something I'd consider to collect...

Cueaddicts, just what I was thinking. I have a $25. 1x1 Action with my name spray painted on in big block letters. Too cheap and ugly to get stolen. That's the case that travels.

OnQ

Got my 3 x 6 leather (lizard pattern) from Garth at OnQ Custom Cases about 2 years ago and couldn't be happier. Still looks as good as the day I got it.

Is the cowboy style choice a mixture of a 2 pocket oval tube case design and western style tooling ? For example, not all Instroke cases have cowboy western style tooling.

It's whatever you want it to mean for the survey....but to me, with or without tooling it's still a "cowboy" case. They are indeed a variation on the tube.

If what you like happens to defy categorization, then tell us about it.

If you want a case that is too ugly to steal but still offers excellent protection, look at the Sterling Wave case in black & orange (I call it the Halloween case ). It's uglier than a man's ass.

Ron F and bobroberts, those are two BEAUTIFUL cases. Not what I prefer 'cause I would probably have a nervous breakdown trying to keep a watchful eye on them in the poolhall.

Maniac (disclaimer: I realize that a man's ass is not ugly to everyone ;))

I admire the traditional sheridan cowboy style tooling, but prefer something different. Case makers like Cyrex, Phil Eastwood, Erofey and some of JB cases.

For me, if I want something subtle and go unnoticed, I use my cheap vinyl Porper case.

Can't really answer.

I think I have one of each from dirt cheap vinyl up to and around twice the OMG.

So what I prefer depends on what I'm bringing, where I'm bringing it to, how and then of course, why.

:)
