I currently have linnen on mine, but want to try changing back to leather as soon as I can make the trip and get it done.

Either is okay, but gasket material cork gives linen or all leathers the 6 ball in terms of feel. With leather I hate the embossed cowhide, but like the smoothly textured pigskin or real smooth calfskin. No wrap cues, even sneaky petes, with high gloss automotive finish aren't for me (or Efren--had masking tape wrap on wrapless cue!). A sneaky with a lacquer finish is what I like.

Hey Juston,

It might be a good idea to edit the poll (if that is possible) and add "Wrapless" to the list.
If cost wasn't an issue (which would mean getting a insane figured wrapless handle) i would go fishing with the Irish Linen, and use the leather for toilet paper.

Why do you like textured on one and smooth on the other? What about cowhide, smooth or textured?

Well they are my favorites. I think Lizard runs a close second to the boars texture. The kangaroo is a great alternative to the smooth cowhide with a slightly spongier feel. Its very close to the Szamboti leather wrap I have.

Linen is at the bottom of my list, unless it's (gasp) finished over ala Meucci.

Not a big fan of textured leathers either, but smooth leather is ok.

My preference for both feel and looks is wrapless.

hey jon.....i can appreciate a wrapless cue but those are kind of hard to do after a cue has been built with a wrap bed in it....thats only a option you can get when a cue is new unless as you well know you have a cue re-built with a wrap section like that.......this poll is to address cues that have already been wrapped with linen or leather......but i appreciate the sweetness of a wrapless cue....take care my friend, juston

In that case, i would have to go with smooth leather.
