i think elephant scrotum sac is the best. hands down.

oops sorry about that, seriously leather to look at and linnen to play, cork is also very nice feeling.

thanks

i wanted to thank all of those that participated in my poll.....will be offering a unbelievably great deal on leather wraps in the very near future......i will keep all posted as things come together......thanks again all, juston

I like a stacked leather wrap like atlas sells. I have that on one of my cues and wouldn't change it for anything. I dont like most irish linen but if it jet black double pressed it feels and looks great. I like a wrapless cue as well, my next cue is a wrapless Hex-Butt. Hex-butt cues can't be wrapped to the best of my knowledge.

Linen or leather cue wrap

I prefer a linen wrap on my cues. I've tried cues that had linen wraps that were too smooth and slippery for me, but you can rub them with some wax paper until you get the desired affect if you don't like the smooth feel. Once the linen feels right to you it's hard to beat since it can be replaced easily and it isn't that expensive. I also like the option of being able to change the color of the linen wrap to give my cue a different look.

I like leather wraps also and I guess it boils down to what feels right to each person. I have a friend who only wants lizard wraps on his cues and he's willing to spend the money to have the wrap changed on every cue he owns (he has a small collection of fairly high end cues).

You can't use Kangaroo on a regular cue...

Kangaroo skin is illegal in California. :-(

WTF??? I know absolutely nothing about this but arent Kangaroo's like a rodent and there is too many of em as there is? Why the hell would Kangaroo skin be illegal? Are they starting to become an endangered species?

How is Ivory used in pool Cues when it is appahrently illegal to import? I watched about 5 minutes of a show about it the other day and they were talking about confiscating ivory as it came over the border. How does this apply to the ivory used in pool cues?

Kangaroo skin is illegal to sell in Cali.
I can go to Las Vegas and buy some. Jeesh, kill me. Kangaroos are like deer in Australia except you can't hunt them. The govt. pays to reduce their population.
Ivory used for pool cues are mostly from pre-ban ivory ( expos facto law/ or grandfather law?).
I have a pair of cowboy boots with kangaroo skin. Kangaroo skin is very thin, smooth and stronger than calf skin.

Ivory used by "reputable" cue makers was imported before the ban was put in place. Scott
