Leather wrap question

I just picked up an Omen with a lizard wrap. The wrap seems very nicely done and you can barely see the seam. The problem though is you can feel like a sharp edge along the seam in a couple of places that I find kind of distracting. The wrap seam isn't coming up that I can tell, it just feels like the edge of a thicker piece of paper. I'm wondering if there is a way to smooth it out without damaging the wrap or discoloring it along the seam. I did a search and saw some seam issues but most were dealing with bad wrap jobs. This doesn't seem to be the case so any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the back side may have needed sanding to meet flush together.
Pictures help, but the only thing you may be able to do is roll the seam a bit.
Not much to do from the finish side of the leather.

Please call or contact Pete Ohman/Omen and I'm certain he'd like to hear from you for the least. He's one of the best cuemakers and reputable people I have had the pleasure to know.
thanks, Bill

It should be an easy fix for the maker unless one side is thicker.
Call Pete as Bill suggested.

Lizard has an irregular grain pattern and that means highs and lows as the pattern increases and decreases in bumps and rectangles. You probably are feeling the increase being up against a decrease. Take the back side of a butter knife or a quarter and press that high part down in a few places and see if that helps. If it does do it to the whole seem.

OK thanks everyone. I will contact Pete. I don't know if the wrap is original to the cue or not, it's used, but might be interesting to see what he can tell me about it anyway.

For the quarter or butterknife thing are you talking the edge or the flat side if I try that?

Just as Cueman said, lizard is irregular thickness and has waves and ripples in it. I usually use a small hammer and tap the seam in the spots that do not match, works wonders. Joe Blackburn showed me that trick.
