left hand bridge ... you play BETTER
right hand bridge... BETTER stroke, follow through

isn't having a better stroke playing better already?

so, you play equally with each bridge hand ?

left hand bridge i make more shots right hand bridge miss more shots but have a good stroke follow through

You're right handed so probably right eye dominant. Bridge with your left hand for proper eye alignment and work on your stroke. Your stroke may feel smoother with a right hand bridge, but eye misalignment and your follow through (probably elbow drop) are causing you to miss.
When you shoot a gun the left hand steadies it and the right pulls the trigger. You hold the gun this way so your right eye sights down the barrel of the gun. It's the same with the pool cue.

Hope this helped...

A guy I went to school with did this. He was a decent shooter but would miss some shots as we all do. One day he noticed that we were right handed but bridging with our left hand. He had been bridging with his right hand (being right handed) and stroking with his left. Once he realized he had been doing it backwards he switched. But that just made him be a better off handed shooter.

Wait a minute, maybe I am left handed. Wow, maybe you can quit spotting me six balls Todd.:D

I thought you had started a thread about your dates....:D :D :D

LMAO, X2 :D

It's fun to play left-handed....makes it more fun and even when playing with rec players, and it's always good to use on easier shots even in tough matches when the table position is easier as a lefty....

Still, better bridge and better stroke righty, but left is fun....

Jeopardy answer: Which hand do you make love with?

I'm the same way. I've been told my shots are steadier when I use my right as my bridge hand, rather than my left. I switch hands while I shoot, just so I'm capable of using both decently. At least that's what I'm gunning for.

I am right handed, but play left handed because that was the way I learned. When I picked up a cue, it was natural for me that way. I can bridge better with my right hand. When I shoot off-handed, my stroke is stronger with my right arm, than left, but I have better speed control with my left.

I actually know several players like this...I think that it is just what works and what feels comfortable for you.
